The PNC Championship is undoubtedly one of the most beloved and unique events on the golf calendar and I think we know why. This tournament is not only a place where we see unforgettable family moments but also a new generation of golfers in the making. This year’s tournament is set to tee off on December 19-22, 2024, at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando, Florida. This 36-hole scramble tournament brings together some of the biggest names in golf and pairs them with their sons, daughters, or relatives in a fun and competitive format. With a prize purse of $200,000 up for grabs this year, the stakes are high but the family-friendly atmosphere among competitors makes this event a true standout.

But who is performing this year? Well, a lot of top golfers and their little ones. Some of the best golfers in the field in the 2024 edition are Tiger Woods, Nelly Korda, and John Daly. Now, let’s take a closer look at the top 5 bets for this year’s game:

The Kordas

First up, we have Team Korda, and do we even have to explain this? This team is good for two reasons, incredibly talented Nelly Korda and her father, Petr. I’m throwing my support behind this father-daughter duo blindly and here’s why. As we all know, Korda’s game has been on fire this year with seven wins under her belt. I mean, that has to be enough for her to prove that she’s got the skills to take on the best. On the other hand, her father brings a wealth of experience to the table through years of training with Korda. I do not doubt that they’ll make some unforgettable memories together, and maybe this year will be when Korda makes history as the first female winner of the PNC Championship, who knows?

The Singhs

Next, we have Team Singh. The team consists of golf legend Vijay Singh and his son Qass, and they were the winners of PNC in 2022, which is why I really think they have a chance of taking the title again. They were also runners-up in the 202 edition of the event. Singh who recently turned 61 is still going strong with a string of top finishes in recent years. His recent victories include a thrilling win in 2022 after shooting a pair of 59s, so we know that he isn’t playing around when it comes to winning. He’s arriving at this tournament in top form, with seven top-10s in 22 starts on the PGA Tour Champions this season. With Qass by his side, they can be a formidable team that’s sure to give the competition a run for their money. Singh’s experience and Qass’s youthful energy make something extraordinary together, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see them making a serious push for the title.

The Woods

Team Woods is also looking strong, despite Tiger Woods’ recent back surgery a few weeks back. After the continuous cycle of news that Woods will not be participating in the PNC Championship, it has been proved otherwise and there’s only one reason why. Woods has proven time and time again that he can push through pain and come out on top and with his son, Charlie Woods, by his side, Team Woods is looking stronger than ever. Charlie’s been getting better and better, and his hitting power is seriously impressive. In a scramble format, these two are going to be tough to beat. It’s about time Team Woods won the PNC Championship after coming as runners-up in 2021; well 2024 might just be their year!

The Duvals

The Duvals are another team to watch, with David Duval and his son Brady teaming up once again. They’ve got some serious momentum going on after finishing as runners-up in 2023 and snagging a few top-5 finishes along the way. But what’s exciting is that Brady’s not just riding his dad’s coattails, he is one of the rising stars in the golf world. He reportedly tied the course record at Bishops Gate with a stunning 61 back in March and that has to count for something. With both Duvals bringing their A-game, this father-son duo is what I’m excited to see how they perform under pressure.

The Dalys

Last but certainly not least, we have Team Daly. John Daly and his son John Daly II are without a doubt a formidable duo. The Dalys have a special place in the history books, having claimed the tournament-best score with a remarkable 27-under-par total over four rounds to win the event in 2021. Their victory was all the more impressive given the stiff competition they faced from golfing royalty Tiger Woods and his son Charlie. Team Woods put on a show as they scored 11 straight birdies in the final round, but ultimately fell just two shots short of the Dalys’ winning score. As they take to the course once again, we are sure they’ll be looking to recreate that magic and make another push for the title. So, who are you putting your hopes on?
