LIV Golf is ready for its fourth season! The breakaway circuit’s 2024 season ended in October and more than a month later, the circuit will open up its gates for several golfers to get a chance and become a part of LIV Golf in 2025. Last year, three golfers, Kalle Samooja, Kieran Vincent, and Jinichiro Kozuma joined the league.

However, this time, LIV Golf is not offering three cards for the field, instead only one golfer will be able to get that spot. The league has not revealed the reason for reducing the cards, but it seems they are following in the PGA Tour’s footsteps too quickly. Nonetheless, golfers from all around the world will be at the Riyadh Golf Club, competing for that one card.

But what else is in store? As the breakaway critic is renowned for their prize purse, here too, it isn’t any less. The top 20 players on the final day will get a share of the $1.5 million prize purse. The winner, with the card, will get a check for $200,000, whereas the runner will receive $150,000 and the third will take home $100,000. The players finishing 11th to 20th on the leaderboard will each get $17,500. Moreover, the top 10 finishers and ties will get a guaranteed spot on LIV Golf and Asian Tour co-sanctioned events, the International Series.

Unfortunately, there are no Official World Golf Rankings points on the line as the disruptive league’s appeal was rejected and Greg Norman also withdrew it after requesting it for months. One of the reasons, why OWGR rejected LIV Golf was because of their 54-hole format and this one-of-a-kind LIV Q-School also has a unique format.

Unlike the usual LIV Golf events, where there are only three rounds, LIV Golf Promotions will have four rounds but there is a catch. The official tournament starts on December 12th and ends on the 14th. Each round will consist of 18-hole stroke play.

According to various eligibility criteria, golfers will tee up but only the top 20 will move to the second round and join those who automatically qualified. The score will reset and the top 20 will move to advance to rounds 3 and 4, ties won’t go in as a playoff will be held.
