As we near our Christmas and New Year celebrations, we are yet to examine one more big showdown of this year. Hosted by the legend Tiger Woods, the Hero World Challenge is unofficially going to be the last event of the 2024 season. It brings the 20 best players on the greens each year. And this is not any different. Although the host himself won’t be competing, it will not dim the shine of the event.

With these top players like Xander Schauffele competing in the event, the prize purse is also as high as the anticipation for the awaited winner. The winner of the event will take home a prize of $1 million from a $5 million purse. The 2024 Hero World Challenge has 4 unmatched ticket options with premium food and top-notch hospitality facilities. Ever wondered who is sponsoring all this? Get ready for the disclosure.

As the name goes, Hero World Challenge, the primary sponsor of this event is none other than Hero MotoCorp Ltd. Based out of New Delhi, this brand is the world’s largest manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters. Over the years, the brand has not only sponsored golf but multiple sporting events, including football, field hockey, cricket, and motorsports. Found by Brijmohan Lall Munjal, the company is worth $2.4 billion to date.

After Brijmohan Lall Munjal passed away in 2015, Dr Pawan Munjal took charge of the company and made Hero MotoCorp reach a global platform. The company currently sells its masterpieces in more than 40 countries across Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and South and Central America.

With Hero MotoCorp’s success story unfolding on the world stage, it’s natural to be curious about the man behind the wheel. But does the CEO of the biggest sponsor also play golf? In an interview with Business Today, the chairman revealed that “I have never played that golf before that day, nor have I played it since then,” referring to when he played golf with Tiger Woods in 2014 when Woods visited India. “Best round of my life,” Dr. Munjal continued, clearing that he even admits looking after a billion-dollar company; the CEO doesn’t forget to play the sport his company sponsors.

The company, whose global corporate partner is fifteen-time major winner Tiger Woods, says that “through golf, we have managed to take the company and the brand across the globe.” As Hero MotoCorp continues to make waves in the world of golf, one can’t spot but assume—what’s behind the company’s passion for sports?
