The Grant Thornton Invitational is off to a great start. With a great first round, fans should not miss the second round as it will feature a foursome format. It will be a crucial round for each team as there is a very small margin of difference between the top and the bottom teams. The topper of the leaderboard has successfully secured an under-14 score, while not far away under 6 is the bottom team’s score. However, the majority of the teams in the event are tied at a score of under 9 and others are around with minor differences, as per the result shared by the PGA Tour official X account.
Following the Scramble format in the first round, we saw the world no.1, Nelly Korda, and Daniel Berger tied for 8th position. It would be interesting to see how the leaderboard will change in the following rounds. Currently, Patty Tavantanakit and Ryan Knapp are leading with a score of under 14 after the first round. They will be in action at 12:19 PM ET, being closely followed by Jennifer Kupcho and Akshay Bhatia.
Fans can watch the second round on the Golf Channel and NBC. With the first tee off at 10:55 AM ET and the last tee off at 12:19 PM ET, a pure golfing experience awaits fans on Saturday, December 14 at the Tiburón Golf Club in Naples, Florida.

The duo has shown great promise by currently being at the top of the leaderboard. However, for them, it went as per the plan. According to Sportskeeda, Tavatanakit, after her first round shared, “Really chill. I feel like everything was going the way we hoped for. The timing, momentum-building moments were pretty good. We just kept on playing.” She also talked about the plan to score birdies and eagles while maintaining a safer under par aim. For that, she said, “I knew 9-under wasn’t going to be a bad score after nine holes. But a couple of pars to start off the back nine it was like, ‘OK, let’s make sure we try to keep giving ourselves opportunities.’ And to be able to finish eagle-birdie, that’s always pretty nice.”
Now, the game will get interesting as the teams will face off against each other as part of the foursome format in the second round. It would be a pressure-intense situation, while a delight for the fans. Who do you think will top the leaderboard for the second round at Grant Thornton Invitational 2024?
