The Shriners Children’s Open has been a place for golfers to grab their first victory, like Tiger Woods did in 1996. The players are contesting for marking their spot in the top 125 and this event will boost it more. Here are our top 5 players likely to win:

1. Kim Joo Hyung

Tom Kim is the defending champion and is having an amazing year. The Korean golfer has had eight top-10 finishes in the 2022-23 season. His consistent play had him finish second at The Open and positioned sixth at the Cazoo Open de France. Standing at 16th on the Official World Golf Ranking, this 21-year-old is ready to hit the jackpot once again.

2. Ludvig Aberg

The Swedish golfer made his professional debut in 2023, but his gameplay defines him as a veteran. Becoming undefeated at the Ryder Cup foursomes, he just became the highest-ranked Swedish golfer. The rookie came tied for a second at the Sanderson Farm Championship and missed the victory by four strokes. This appearance may add to his first-ever PGA Tour victory.

3. Luke List

Fresh out as the new Sanderson Champion, Luke List will be making an appearance with expectations of him lifting another cup. Finishing at T25 in the Fortinet Championship and winning a five-way playoff is quite a feat. With 2 victories in his bag, he can aim for a third at the Shriners Children’s Open.

4. Nicolai Hojgaard

Nicolai Hojgaard is taking this spot alongside his Ryder Cup compatriot Aberg. The Danish golfer withdrew from the Sanderson Farm Championship but is making an appearance in the TPC Summerlin, Las Vegas. Hojgaard played exceptionally well at the Wyndham Champion but finished 14th. He won the Italian Open in 2021 and tied for fifth in 2023. He was among the top 25 at the Open Championship and finished 6th when playing the Genesis Scottish Open. His record speaks for his place in the ranking. Maybe this will be his first PGAT triumph.

5. Henrik Norlander

Henrik Norlander is having a rough season, but the recent runner-up position is ringing bells for a possible victory. Norlander scored his career’s best at the Sanderson Farms. Although the 36-year-old had just six top 10 and five top 25 this season, the Swede’s skills cannot be underestimated and he can carve his first PGA Tour victory.
