Following the intense Dubai Desert Classic, the DP World Tour now heads over to another emirate in the UAE: the Ras al Khaimah Championship. The fourth Tour event of the 2023 calendar year will be held at the Al Hamra Golf Course in Ras al Khaimah. With huge cash prizes and lots on the line, the event is sure to satisfy the eager fans. The competitive field will also compete fiercely for the title and the winner’s share. Let’s find out all that the pros have at stake.

Field and field of the 2023 Ras al Khaimah Championship

The 11th event of the 2022–2023 season sees a 132-player field. Being an event with a cut, only the top 65 players and ties will compete in the final two rounds. The remaining players who don’t make the cut will return home early on Friday.
As per Golf Monthly, many previous European Tour winners will be competing for the title this week. Among them are Dan Bradbury, who won the Joburg Open last year, and Thriston Lawrence, who won on the Tour just two months ago. The defending champion, Dane Nicolai Hojgaard, will also be on the field and looking to retain the title.

The event also has a few LIV golfers on its 132-player roster. The Saudi-backed league players are undoubtedly searching for Official World Golf Ranking points to make their way up in the rankings. Pablo Larrazabal and Adrian Otaegui are two such players.
Total purse and winner’s cut at the event
The event has a total purse of $2,000,000. All the players who played in the last two rounds will receive a share of it. The winner sees a whopping $340,000, which is in line with the standard 17 percent payout as per the European Tour’s prize money distribution chart. There is also 2750 Race to Dubai points to be split among the entire field.

Along with the cash bonus, the victor will also receive 15 OWGR points, which are based on field strength. They will also receive a two-plus season exemption on the European Tour as well as berths in other significant events.
