Prize money breakdown at the LPGA DIO Implant LA Open and the winner’s cut
The LPGA DIO Implant LA Open promises great excitement to golf enthusiasts with a new course, a stacked field, and high stakes. Top golfers will be going against each other to win a share of the $1.75 million prize purse.
The winner will take home $262,500, the standard 15% payout as per the LPGA tour’s prize money distribution chart.
While the winner will go home with the biggest chunk of the prize purse, the first runner-up will walk away with $165,070. Meanwhile, the second runner-up will be earning $119,746.
In addition to the jaw-dropping prize money, the tournament champion will also win additional perks. The winner of the tournament will clinch 500 points toward the season-long race to the CME Globe. Other benefits include a two-year exemption on the LPGA tour and berths into other crucial tournaments.
The 2023 DIO Implant LA Open boasts a stacked field
The fifth edition of the LA open has been moved to Palos Verdes Golf Club in Los Angeles. The new course is expected to witness sparks of brilliance from the strong group of golfers.
In 2022, Nasa Hataoka won at Wilshire Country Club, and she returns this year to defend her title. Marina Alex, who won last year’s first and only version of the Palos Verdes Championship, will also compete at the fifth LA Open.
World No. 1 Lydia Ko will make her first start in the US this season. In February, the 25-year-old took home $750,000 after clinching the LET’s Aramco Saudi Ladies International for a second time.
France’s Celine Boutier, who won last week’s Drive On Championship after defeating Georgina Hall of England, will not compete at the LA Open. Hall, however, will be competing at Palos Verdes for a share of the coveted prize purse.
Jin Young Ko, World No. 3 and a former LA Open champion, will also appear. Other notable golfers who will be competing include Nelly Korda, Lilia Vu, and In Gee Chun.
