The Shriners Children’s Open on the PGA tour has been played in Las Vegas for 40 years now. And this time it is returning with a huge bash. The stars from the Presidents Cup 2022 will be the center of attention. They will perfectly coincide with the star-struck vibration of the big city.

The first Shriners Children’s Open tournament was held in 1983. Fuzzy Zoeller won the five-day tournament before the format changed to four rounds in 2004. The series was also called the Las Vegas Invitational and pro golfer. Tiger Woods won it in 1996, which was his first PGA Tour event. For the last five years, from 2008 to 2012, Justin Timberlake has been the celebrity host of the series. Let’s see what the 2022 series has in store.
Details of Shriners Children’s Open 2022
This year the tournament will be held at TPC Summerlin, Las Vegas, Nevada. Top golfers are competing this year to earn FedExCup points. They play this tournament for charity, which will benefit the namesake. This tournament is the third event on the list of the PGA Tour’s FedExCup.
Tom Kim, the star golfer of the Presidents Cup, is playing in the tournament along with Sungjae Im. The two proficient golfers from the US team, Max Homa and Patrick Cantlay, will also play at TPC Summerlin. The host course has a par 71 playing to 7,255 yards for golfers to play. It has enough birdies, as according to history, 16 winners out of the last 18 were able to hit under 20 or even better.

After the first 36 holes, only the top 65 golfers will move to the final round of the tournament. The prize money will be received by the golfers, who will compete in all four rounds of the tournament.
Purse and payout of the winners
According to the PGA Tour’s prize money distribution chart, the total prize money of the 2022 Shriners Children’s Open purse is $8 million. The winner of the tournament will receive $1.44 million, which is the standard 18% of the total payout.

The Shriners Children’s Open field tournament has 144 golfers playing for the charity. Currently, people are betting on the World No. 4, Patrick Cantlay, for the win.
