The 2022 Sanford International is all set to feature the best golfers across the world. The players are excited to compete for the huge prize money. It is going to be the fifth edition of the tournament this year on the PGA Tour Champions. The event is held at the Minnehaha Country Club in Sioux Falls located in South Dakota. But how much will the players earn at this year’s event?

Which top players are competing at this year’s Sanford International?

The field is filled with the most talented golfers this year. And the best part about the event is that it features all four champions from the previous editions of the tournament. There are going to be more than 70 golfers participating, including last year’s champion Darren Clarke. Clarke was in the news after his victory last year since he defeated players like K.J. Choi and Steve Flesch. Both these players will also be seen in this year’s event.

Fans are excited to spot golf legend John Daly on the field in the championship. While other big names that will appear on the course include Miguel Angel Jimenez, Steve Stricker, Fred Couples, Ernie Els, and Vijay Singh. Onida, South Dakota citizen, Tom Byrum, will also participate in the event.

Prize money and winner’s share for the tournament

The players are eager to compete in the tournament this year mainly due to its prize money. Sanford International is set for a prize money of $2 million. And the winner of the tournament will receive $300,000. This season of the tournament will begin on Friday, 16th of September 2022, and end on Sunday, 18th of September 2022.

The most exciting part about this tournament is that golf legend, John Daly will be a playing this year. The golfer recently expressed his urge to join the LIV Golf league but was rejected by Greg Norman for the same. But in a way, it was good for the golfer since had he been a part of the new league, PGA Tour Champions would probably not welcome him.
