

The Himmerland Golf & Spa Resort is all set to host one of the biggest tournaments of The DP World Tour – The 2022 Made in Himmerland event. Austrian golfer, Bernd Wiesberger had been winning the tournament for the last two years. However, after his transition to the LIV Golf league, he will no longer be here to defend his title. And golf fans will be seeing a new champion for this year’s Denmark Tournament. But what is the total purse and the individual prize money for this year’s event? And how much will the winner take home?

The course for 2022 Made in HimmerLand tournament
The tournament is taking place at the Himmerland Golf & Spa Resort, which has been the host for six out of seven events in the last few years. It is the northern most courses in Europe and is hosting all top players from the world this year. It was designed by Jan Sederholm in 1993 but got majorly renovated in 2012 getting a completely new design.
Prize money and winner’s payout for the HimmerLand tournament

The total purse for this year’s tournament is €3 million, which is double the amount from last year. The winner’s share has also been doubled up in comparison to the previous year and is set to be €500,000 for 2022. The 72-hole strokeplay is not the first one to have increased its prize money this year. Since the LIV Golf tour came into existence, all other organizations have been working on spending more on their players and retaining them on the PGA Tour.

Other benefits for the golfers playing the tournament
The increased prize money and the better share for the winner are not the only benefits for the players this year. There is a lot more on the line for all golfers who will manage to make the cut in the tournament, especially for the winner. The champion will be rewarded almost 16 Official World Golf Ranking points after making it to the top. The winner will also receive an exemption on the European Tour for more than two seasons.
