The 2022 Hero Open is the 27th event of the 2022 DP World Tour. This event is currently underway at the Fairmont St. Andrews in Fife, Scotland. Moreover, due to the emergence of LIV Golf, the DP World Tour lacks star power in the field this week. Hence, in the absence of top golfers, youngsters have an opportunity to capitalize and showcase their abilities. Additionally, LIV Golf is also underway at the Trump National Golf Club along with Rocket Mortgage Classic on the PGA Tour.

Meanwhile, the 2022 Hero Open has golfers like Richie Ramsay, Pep Angles, Edoardo Molinari, and others. Furthermore, a few golfers will return to the DP World Tour after competing in the LIV Golf events. The focus will be on those golfers as well. But what is the prize money purse for this 27th DP World Tour event? Let’s find out.

The 2022 Hero Open prize money

The 2022 Hero Open has a prize purse of €1.75 million. The winner will receive around €291,660, the standard 16.67 percent payout according to the European Tour’s prize money distribution chart. Since the prize money is considerably on the lower side, there are no prominent names in the field this week.

Apart from prize money, there are other perks in the field, especially for the winner. The winner will receive 460 Race to Dubai points. It is a season-ending bonus for players as, at the end of the season, the golfer with the most Race to Dubai points wins the first-place prize. The top five golfers in the Race to Dubai standings will get a share of the bonus pool of €5 million.

Furthermore, there are 156 golfers on the field at the 2022 Hero Open this week. However, not all golfers will get a share of the total of €1.75 million. There is a cut line after 36-holes where only the top 65 golfers and their ties will proceed to the weekend. Hence, only these players will receive a share of the €1.75 million prize money purse. Today we play golf and celebrate its legacy to come.
