The first of three Iberian swing tournaments of the DP world tour will take place in Spain at Club de Campo de Villa de Madrid. This year, the Acciona Open de Espana field will be headed by pro golfer, Jon Rahm, Tommy Fleetwood, and Adri Arnaus. The 2022 tournament is the 37th event of the year 2022, on the European tour schedule. Club de Campo Villa de Madrid hosted its first event in 1990 and it became the regular host. It has also hosted the Open de Madrid and Madrid Masters.

It is not just the prize money or the title that players will try to achieve. This tour has perks, benefits, and many important factors on the line. The winner of the tournament will get 18 Official World Golf Ranking points, awarded based on the field strength. The winner will benefit from an exemption of more than two-plus seasons on the European tour and will have direct entry into other key events.
The point from the tournament, which is a total of 2,750, will be beneficial for Race to Dubai points. The winner of this tournament will get 460 DP World Tour points, which will be factored into the Race to Dubai points.
Purse and the prize breakdown
Rafa Cabrera Bello and Adri Arnaus might attract all the attention, even though the World No.6, Jon Rahm, will be on the field. It will be Rahm’s first tournament since he finished as a runner-up in last month’s BMW PGA Championship. But the thing grabbing the most attention is the prize money.

The purse set for the 2022 Acciona Open de Espana is a whopping €1.75 million. According to European Tour’s prize money distribution chart, the winner will take home €291,660, which is the standard 16.67% of the total payout.
