Lefty’s performance is one of the much-awaited performances in the PGA Championship, given his tremendous gameplay in the Masters last month.
With a good start, Mickelson is in the top 30 after the first round. However, in any of these scenarios, fans might even pick up on minor alterations to games. This alteration was just noted on Twitter by a fan account. On its official Twitter account, Phil Mickelson Tracker tweeted a post about the golfer exchanging balls between games. The caption on the picture read: “Noticed Phil has changed balls mid round. Was using a Callaway that he lined himself with sharpie, now using the official triple track ball.”
There is no one ball rule at the PGA 😊

The oldest champion wasted no time and replied to the tweet, “There is no one ball rule at the PGA”. With so many controversies surrounding LIV golf, Lefty is quick to inform everyone about the rules.
At the PGA Championship two years prior, the six times major champion defeated Brooks Koepka to win his sixth major. Nevertheless, he didn’t participate in any majors last year after switching to LIV Golf.
Since the beginning of the year, his performance has set a high bar. He scored eight birdies at the Masters in Augusta just last month ranking at T2 tied with Koepka. In addition, he finished with the lowest final-round score of 65, making him the oldest golfer to reach this milestone. But with all these achievements, how have fans reacted to the fan account tweet and Mickelson’s response?

Phil Mickelson Tracker clarified himself and stated that he didn’t know that was a rule.
I didn’t even realize that was a rule. Just thought it was interesting and figured you were trying to see something different on the greens.

One fan commented how this is a common sight in Lefty’s game.
Phil is famous for doing things like that. Not because it helps his game. Just because he’s Phil.

One fan commented on the direct clarification by Mickelson.

All aspects of the game were strong, except for getting up and out on those drives. Love how he is scoring.

Some fans were confused by the no-one-ball rule.
Serious question; you have to use the same ball on the hole until you putt out right? Meaning you can’t use a different ball just for putting right?

So you can swap to different compression balls on each hole? 🤔

Though he is not on the PGA Tour anymore, Mickelson is the past champion of the Masters and the PGA Championship, so he has a lifetime invitation to the games. And with his amazing performances, everyone is waiting to see his magic on the course again.
