They say that behind every great man, there is a woman. Mothers and their children often share the strongest link in the world. With their ultimate love and support, one can overcome any obstacle in life. This statement certainly holds true for athletes in sports. While some athletes honor their mothers on Mother’s Day, others honor the mothers of their children.

Max Homa is no exception when it comes to celebrating Mother’s Day. After welcoming a baby boy, the World Number 6 Golfer is a part of the latter group and celebrates Mother’s Day in his unique style.

This year, on Mother’s Day, Homa has a very special treat for his beloved wife. On his official Twitter account, he shared a heartwarming picture of his wife, Lacey Croom, and their three-month-old son, Cam Homa, in the open field. He captioned the post: First Mother’s Day I love these 2 so much. I’m treating them to a flight to Rochester, NY today! It’s like breakfast in bed but instead of that we’re in the sky and there’s no bed and we’re with a bunch of strangers, just how she always imagined this day would go”

Coincidentally, Mother’s Day falls on the same weekend as the Tour AT&T Byron Nelson event, where Jason Day claimed victory. Home was one of the many pros who skipped out on it, grabbing some rest and well-deserved family time ahead of the year’s second major! Balance is key, and Homa certainly understands how to maintain it while also making time for his family. The family time will continue this week too, as the entire family appears to be traveling to New York to support Homa.

Cam’s Mama’s tough ordeal

By profession, Lacey Croom is a real state agent. She tied the knot with Homa back in 2019, and the couple have celebrated many milestones since. The biggest came in November last year, when the pair welcomed their first child into the world. Despite things ending happily, their journey to parenthood was not smooth, thanks to Croom’s complicated delivery.

“I’ve been so fortunate that my wife just seems to handle everything so easily. She had a horrendous birth, it did not go well.” said Homa. For him, that day was both horrifying and surreal. His wife had gone through such a difficult phase, and he got to hold his child on the same day.

But he also gave his beloved wife credit for keeping everything calm. When he questioned how he would fit in practice given that his newborn required more of him. Homa gave a positive response, even adding that he was attempting to manage his time.

Homa got off to a tremendous start this year. He triumphed in the Farmers Insurance Open. And in the Genesis Open, he came in second. In the Wells Fargo Championship, he placed eighth. We can hardly wait to see how he performs in the PGA Championship now that his powerful wife is by his side.
