It is no hidden fact that the world is now crippled by global warming. Heat waves and high temperatures are now a reoccurring phenomenon. Definitely, outside activities are not easy. This is the same for golf. With rough terrain, playing outside in the sweltering heat can be problematic for many golfers. For them, maintaining healthy skin and eyes is of utmost importance.

With this in mind, many athletes invest in goods to counter the heat and protect their skin. Many even work with specific brands, and some even start their own businesses. And now the Swedish star, Annika Sorenstam has joined them. The 72-time LPGA winner has branched out from golf with her latest move to protect golfers from nature’s harshness!

Annika Sorenstam ventures into a new line

Due to the nature of their sport, golfers must endure the sun’s wrath. Not only is their skin exposed to heat, but their eyes are also particularly vulnerable. In response to this problem, Annika Sorenstam has collaborated with the Revo company to develop a line of sunglasses tailored specifically for golfers’ requirements.

Sorenstam posted a picture of herself wearing Revo eyewear to her official Instagram account, sporting the Drive Lens sunglasses from her collection. Captioning the post, “When style and protection meet,” the LPGA legend announced her entry into the eyewear sector!

The second photo from the post reads: “True to its name, this is the lens for the golf course. The polarized drive lens features a red/brown base with a silver flash mirror coating that excels at separating colors down to minute level.”

There are six pairs of sunglasses in the Annika Revo Collection. Each one is $229 in value. Clearly, the $40 million golfer believes this golf necessity will, without a doubt, be a profitable venture. And considering how she’s thrived in all of her ventures, she just may be right!

Sorenstam isn’t the only pro golfer in the sector

This is not the first time a golfer has been in the eyewear business. In 2017, ‘Iceman’ Henrik Stenson also launched his eyewear company. Before the launch of his brand, he spent 2.5 years creating and perfecting the ideal model of sunglasses. ‘Henrik Stenson Eyewear’, the Swedish golfer’s eyewear brand, always introduces new models to meet the peculiar requirements of golfers, and his collection includes all unique frames.

The third model of the company’s sunglasses, the Iceman 3.0, included a comfortable frame, custom-fit nose pieces, a stylish appearance, and glare-reducing lenses.

“I’ve always been a bit of a perfectionist, which a lot of good players are,” Stenson said to Golf Digest in 2021. “You always try to make things better and that’s the approach we took here.”
