The top 30 golfers in FedEx Cup standings made their way to the Tour Championship at the iconic East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta. The tournament is in its last leg after three hard weeks. Norwegian star Viktor Hovland is leading the board. Amidst the final round thrills of the Tour Championship, the next thing that everyone is looking forward to is the prestigious Ryder Cup. And Max Homa has received a special message heading into the Ryder Cup.

The first halves of the European and American teams for the upcoming competition are already locked down. There’s a lot of speculation for the remaining team members, especially for the American team. But one of the US team members, Max Homa, had an interesting interaction with NBA legend, Charles Barkley. Barkley even offered a great message to the golfer.

Athletes from other sports are just as excited for the Ryder Cup as golf fans and golfers. Everyone wants their home teams to win and bring the glory home. But there will only be one winner, either team Europe or team America.

Charles Barkley, an avid golfer himself, recently interacted with the golfers after the third round of the $75 million race. He had a fruitful interaction with Max Homa, one of the team members for the 44th Ryder Cup. In the video shared by PGA Tour on X (formerly known as Twitter), the two shared a quick conversation with each other wherein the NBA star had a message for him. The two athletes shared greetings with each other and asked about each other’s game.

After this, Barkley had a message for Homa that was for his forthcoming Rome showdown. “Be safe, hey. Good luck in Rome,” the 60-year-old said.

The NBA legend also had one more piece of advice for the 6X PGAT winner that he shared in the spirit of healthy competition, “Have fun over there in Rome.”

Homa’s interaction with Barkley differed from his last not-so-happy interaction with a fan on the course. Max Homa and Charles Barkley also share one other special relationship with each other. That also found its way into their short, yet sweet, conversation.

Both the NBA legend and PGAT pro have homes in Scottsdale and are apparently neighbors. Homa lives there with his family, and Barkley owns a house there. The two chatted about Scottsdale, and Barkley said that it was still a little “toasty” for him.

Talking about Homa in one of his interviews at East Lake, Barkley said, “He’s one of my favorite people in the world.” He also called Homa one of his homeboys and shared that he adores him and his game.
