After a five-year hiatus, the International Crown on the LPGA Tour was the most anticipated competition for fans and players alike. All of the teams created their strongest lineups, but Team USA garnered the most attention. With Lexi Thompson, Nelly Korda, Danielle Kang, and Lilia Vu comprising the American team and USA’s roster appearing to be incredibly strong, things did not go smoothly for them right away.
The United States split its opening two games with China on Thursday at TPC Harding Park thanks to World No. 1 Korda and Vu.
Ruixin Liu and Yu Liu defeated Thompson and Kang in the other U.S. match, on the other hand.

Team USA at the International Crown
Given their dominance in women’s golf at the time, the American team was a strong favorite to win the tournament’s debut event in 2014. They had trouble in the competition, though, failing to go past the group round and coming in ninth overall. However, the 2016 competition, which was hosted in Illinois, saw better results for the American team. The United States eventually captured their first International Crown. The American squad once again fell short of making it through the group round in the most recent event, which took place in South Korea in 2018. They came in at sixth overall.
While the squad of the American team looks packed this year with talent and experience, they are surely new at this event. Apart from Thompson, who is making her fourth appearance, rest three are making their debuts in the International Crown. However, the top-ranked team will surely look to clinch their second title.
