Sony’s Santa Monica Studio released an update for God of War(2018) on February 2, 2021. This is a free update for PS5 users and replaces the two graphics modes available in the game’s PS4 version. In their blog post, they revealed that this patch“will offer the best of both performance and resolution to our PlayStation 5 players.” Earlier, Playstation 4 pro owners had to choose between a graphics mode that favored either performance or resolution. The new update comes “with a new default setting that will offer the best of both performance and resolution to our PlayStation 5 players!

Additionally, the blog mentions that this patch will offer 60fps and 4K Checkerboard Resolution at 2160p. Players who may feel like their console cannot handle the graphics upgrade can switch to the ‘Original Performance Experience’. This will give players 4K resolution but at 30 fps.

God of War(2018) was part of the PlayStation Plus Collection. It features 2o games including, Batman: Arkham Knight, Final Fantasy XV, and The Last of Us among other hits. The already visually impressive game exceeds expectations with this patch. Images of Kratos in a forest and a scenic image of a mountain were posted on Santa Monica’s Twitter.

Santa Monica Studio outdid all expectations with God of War(2018). The PlayStation exclusive franchise has got some big things in the works, with God of War: Ragnarok currently in development, in addition to another new unannounced game. Ragnarok has become one of the most hyped games of 2021 off the release of its teaser alone. Although it will be some time before we see what they have been developing, we cannot wait to see what the creators of this fan-favorite series have to bring us.
