Gorou in Genshin Impact

Gorou is the first character in the game which is only viable for one element (Geo). You won’t be able to place Gorou in other teams except for Geo as his kit provides an additional boost for Geo units only. Both his elemental skill and burst provide huge bonuses depending on how many Geo characters are there in your team.

According to miHoYo, with one Geo character, you get an additional defense bonus, for two you get resistance to interruption, and by having three Geo allies in the party you can gain a Geo damage bonus. Interestingly, characters can only gain the effects of one General War-Banner at a time. In case a character leaves the field, the effects remain for two seconds.

Weapons and Artifact set

The first thing you should know before building him is that he won’t deal any substantial damage to opponents. Therefore, you can only play him as a support and can get buffs for your Geo main damage dealer. Unlike other characters like Bennett and Sara, Gorou doesn’t provide additional damage buff based on his weapon of choice.

Thus, if you can get the third constellation for him, then you will be able to get three increased levels for his elemental skill. Since it’s not needed to have a weapon with a defense sub-stat, the best slot weapon for him would be any energy recharge bow to get his elemental burst more quickly.

The splendid weapon choice for him is a four-star weapon, Favonius Warbow. Other than that, you can put any weapon with a sub-stat of energy recharge on him.

When it comes to artifacts, the four-piece set of Husk of Opulent Dreams and Emblem of Severed Fate are significant options. However, the four-piece Noblesse Oblige set makes him a great help to the team by providing more buffs to the main damage dealer through artifact set bonus.
