Genshin Impact fans were triggered by the wrong pronunciation of Tighnari

Sumeru has finally arrived with the 3.0 update and players are thrilled to discover the hidden secrets of the region. Furthermore, they are also interested in the upcoming enemies they will encounter in the new region. Sumeru is one of the seven main regions of Teyvat. It is ruled by the current Dendro Archon, Lesser Lord Kusanali.

With the release of the 3.0 update, HoYoverse also introduced two new Dendro characters. These are Collei and Tighnari; Moreover, both of them are bow users. Collei is a four-star character; whereas Tighnari is a five-star unit.

Although several fans were excited to roll on Tighnari’s banner, once developers announced he will be added to Standard Banner in the 3.1 update, many users decided to skip the banner. However, many creators are still rolling for him, as he’s the first five-star Dendro character to arrive after almost two years of release.

Surprisingly, players are having disputes on Tighnari within only a few days of his release. One Reddit user recently posted their opinion about the creator’s mispronouncing Tighnari. Furthermore, they even stated that some creators are not even concerned with the proper pronunciation and are only focusing on content.

According to the user, “I think this overall behavior is extremely counterproductive. For anyone who’s bothered by people who can’t perfectly pronounce Tighnari, I honestly challenge you to pronounce Xingqiu or Zhongli or Keqing properly, because I bet you can’t. The EN VAs can’t, and we just decided to not care. How is that any different?”

Although the Reddit user’s opinion is completely valid, we have to understand that Genshin Impact has a vast fanbase. Therefore, it becomes hard for players to correctly pronounce the Chinese character’s name. Regardless, other fans also left their opinion in the comment section.
