Top five features arriving in Genshin Impact in the 2.3 update
Return to Dragonspine
After taking a long break from the ice region, players finally have to make their way back to participate in the new event. Just like the 1.3 update, the major highlight of the new event storyline will be Albedo.
Furthermore, players can earn a new four-star sword from the upcoming update, which according to some rumors, is specially designed for Albedo. Besides that, players can also build a snowman in Dragonspine and enjoy some agility challenging events to cheer themselves up.
Upcoming events in Genshin Impact
Just like every update, miHoYo will also release a bunch of events for players to collect some primogems. However, most of the events are returning events that might concern some veterans. There is already very little content in the game and now, with only one new event, many users might get triggered.
New characters
The new characters coming to join the players’ journey are Arataki Itto and Gorou. Both of them belong to the Geo element, where one is designed as a main damage dealer and another one is as support. Arataki Itto will debut as a five-star claymore user and will deal immense Geo damage.
Furthermore, most users got surprised as they thought developers will release club as Itto’s signature weapon. However, during his elemental burst, Itto will equip the club as his weapon to deal tremendous damage to opponents. When it comes to our new upcoming four-star character, Gorou, it looks like he is designed mostly to give buffs to Geo characters.
After using Gorou’s elemental skill, players will deal AoE damage and set up a General’s War-Banner. Every character inside the radius will receive more defense and Geo damage bonus depending upon how many Geo characters they have in their party. It would be interesting to see how big impact these new Geo characters will create in the game.
Re-run banners in Genshin Impact
The most eye-catching thing in the 2.3 livestream is that players will see two re-run banners at the same time. Albedo and Eula will have their separate re-run banner in the upcoming update. Interestingly, miHoYo also announced a new mechanics where the pity will be shared on both the characters’ banners.
It means if you want to change your mind pulling for one character mid-way, you can still pull for another without worrying about how many primogems you spend. Last but not the least, a five-star claymore will also appear which might be the signature weapon for Arataki Itto.
New artifacts
After reaching the end-game, players don’t have enough in-game content except farming for better artifacts. Therefore, miHoYo will release two new artifacts set for players to look forward to. The new artifact sets are Husk of Opulent Dreams and Ocean-Hued Clam.
The Husk of Opulent Dreams artifact set looks like is built for offensive Geo damage dealers. With the two-piece set bonus, you can gain 30% DEF; whereas, the four-piece set bonus provides you with an additional 24% DEF and Geo damage by gaining Curiosity. The four-piece set will work best on the upcoming characters, Albedo and Noelle. However, it might not be the best artifact set for Zhongli and Ningguang.

Ocean-Hued Clam is clearly built to increase the healers’ importance in the game. As you make more progress in Genshin Impact, you start to ignore healers. Hence, in order to make them more beneficial, developers will release the new artifact set, Ocean-Hued Clam. The two-piece set bonus only provides you 15% healing bonus.
Interestingly, the four-piece set states that every 3.5 seconds players will summon a Sea Foam, which will stay on the field for 3 seconds and will deal explosive damage. The damage will be based on the amount of healing your character did in that 3 seconds with a maximum of 30,000 damage.
