Keeping the TLOU fever alive, Naughty Dog will be back soon with The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered on the PS5. One of the more exciting parts of the remaster is the No Return mode. Following a roguelike format like God of War: Ragnarok Valhalla, it will allow player to pick from a variety of characters and go up against the infected in randomized encounters. Before its debut, however, some fans are curious regarding the difficulties of certain challenges of this survival mode, such as Hunted.
No Return is packed with numerous styles that one can use in order to progress through various runs. While they have their own set of rules and options, players’ focus will remain on four game modes. Out of them, Hunted appears to be something that may give them a ‘tough time’. This article will try to explain the best method for players to beat this deadly challenge.

To begin with, players should be aware of what they will get inside No Return while starting it for the first time. Devs have already confirmed the roguelike survival mode will consist of four major challenges, which are listed below:
- Assault Challenge: Groups of enemies will spawn in waves. Their knowledge of players’ location in the first place will vary according to the encounter. Players can utilize the downtown between waves to heal themselves and resupply resources.
- Capture Challenge: In this experience, the enemies will be seen guarding a safe filled with valuable supplies. Once the timer expires, the safe will lock automatically. Players have to approach it early by defeating enemies using stealth tactics.
- Holdout Challenge: Players will try to defend themselves, alongside an AI-controlled buddy, against the Infected.
- Hunted Challenge: Players need to survive against non-stop enemy reinforcements before the timer runs out.
As is pretty clear, the Hunted mode only requires one thing that players need to do – fight against time by defeating enemies. They have to make sure they don’t die before the timer ends. Or else they will lose all the upgraded weapons and will need to start the entire run once again.
Interestingly, one can find a certain similarity between the Hunted challenge of The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered’s No Return and Resident Evil’s The Mercenaries. Both the modes have one thing in common – killing as many opponents as possible before the timer runs out.

Coming back to Hunted, players will also receive some exciting rewards in case they beat this mode successfully. After the end of their run, they will get a score and rank based on their overall performance. Further, to take down enemies faster and have better rank, they can make weapon adjustments and upgrades in the Hideout. The latter offers a customization option to prepare the complete loadout before jumping into a new challenge.
