As Fortnite Chapter 4 progressed towards its end, gamers were excited to explore the new world of Chapter 5. Of course, moving on from the OG carnival had to be a challenge. However, the promising lineup planned following Chapter 4 is certainly not letting the limelight go away. Along with some gigantic collaborations, the Battle Royale is bringing some new experiences with some new innovations in the gameplay.
Ever since Epic Games had announced the ‘homecoming season’, a lot of discussions were fueled around what the Battle Royale might have to appeal to the players once the short season ends. While the rumors hinted at some exciting mergers in the lineup ahead, few of the veteran players were rooting for some big changes in how things have functioned in the game. Over the years, there’s been some strong debate around various gameplay features, including the healing items. And with the season 5 changes, here’s why the players are excited to experience the ‘new restoration powers of healing.’

According to the reports, the Medkits and Shield potions both restore the same amount of stats as before but will be doing the same in a different style. “They now start restoring immediately, and you can now move slowly while they restore. Be a sitting Quackling no more with these two items. But take note: you won’t be able to cancel once you start restoring with these items, so use them wisely!” a credible industry insider claimed in an X (formerly Twitter) post.
A MEDKIT MIRACLE AND SHIELD POTION SURPRISE
Medkits and Shield Potions have changed! Both restore the same amount of stats as before, but the way they do it is different. The Medkit and Shield Potion can now be used anywhere. So players are not restricted to one location. They can now be eaten while on the go. Furthermore, as soon as any of the two are consumed, the effects of the Medkit and Shield Potion become apparent. In a follow-up tweet later, an insider, Hypex explained:

- When you’re reviving (OR REBOOTING) a teammate and accidentally move out of range, the revive timer will slowly go down instead of hard reset.
- Medkits and shields can now be used while moving, and they regenerate only the amount you need
If the claims are to be trusted, this major change will bring a lot of positive impact to the overall experience. Players who have rooted for a movement healing patch will have already started celebrating as the leak went viral across the web. On the contrary, the no-cancellation policy coming along with the update isn’t received well by the community.
