Madame Web stars Dakota Johnson as the clairvoyant Cassandra Webb in the upcoming Marvel film. For a while now, fans have been wanting other live action Spider-Men as well. Miles Morales happens to be a favorite. Another is Spider-Gwen. While we wait for their live action iterations, the honor of the first major female-led movie set in the Spider-Man universe will go to Madame Web. But what if the character ends up appearing in her own video game as well on PlayStation?
Yes, there are surely no such plans revealed by Sony to bring the iconic comic book character to consoles. However, there is a possibility and some key reasons to believe that a Madame Web video game will work going forward. Not only it will extend the connection of Cassandra Webb with more gamers, but may also play a crucial role in the already established Marvel’s Spider-Man gaming universe by Insomniac Games.

The company simply loves making profits out of its properties, especially if they are related to ‘anything Spider-Man’. That’s been the norm everyone has seen in the last few years. Of course, it adds up considering the wall-crawler’s popularity. As a marvel favorite and one of the most popular street-level superheroes, Spider-Man has already gotten 3 popular live action versions.
If one has to look at the pattern, there are several instances where PlayStation has received Marvel characters following their appearances in live-action movies. For starters, Tom Hardy played Venom in two movies, Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage.
By the time Venom 2 came out, Insomniac’s first Marvel’s Spider-Man video game was already released. Plus, fans became excited for Venom due to his growing popularity. As a result, the makers eventually decided to bring the character into games as well. Venom’s introduction was setup in 2018’s Spider-Man in the post credits. He later made his debut in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Famous Hollywood actor Tony Todd portrayed Venom in the PS5 exclusive.

However, Venom wasn’t the only character to appear in 2023’s installment. Fans also got to see Kraven the Hunter. Now what’s interesting to note is that there’s also a live-action Kraven movie coming soon. It’s quite clear that most of the Marvel characters who have appeared in recent movies by Sony have got their video game versions too.

And how can one forget Miles Morales? Although he’s been only seen in the animated films so far, his first live-action film is also in the works. And Spider-Man: Homecoming hinted at Miles’ existence in the MCU. Donald Glover played Aaron Davis in the movie and referred to his ‘nephew’. Aaron Davis is Miles’ uncle. With a pattern here, it’s very much possible for Madame Web to be the next character on this list.
However, for anything to capitalize in the long run, it’s important for Madame Web movie to work. If it’s a hit, possibilities will be endless. But if it fails like Morbius, Sony will probably not even consider giving it any spotlight.
