Now that we’re in the 10 day countdown to new years, it’s time to bid 2023 farewell, and look forward to another exicitng year in the gaming industry. What can we expect in 2024?

As we get ready to embrace 2024 after an impactful year of game releases, many studios are gearing up for the new year. From Square Enix to Kojima Productions, gamers can expect some groundbreaking releases to enter the PlayStation 5 catalog. Here are 10 PlayStation 5 games that you can look forward to:

1. Yakuza: Infinite Wealth

Get ready for more Yakuza mayhem. Kazuma Kiryu and Ichiban Kasuga team up in this latest installment, featuring the turn-based combat that made Like a Dragon a hit. For the first time in the history of the series, the game takes players outside Japan and gives them a chance to explore Hawaii.

The game is set to release on January 26, 2024, and players will once again get to jump into some Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio-style action.

2. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

The highly anticipated Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League promises an explosive gaming experience. Harley Quinn, Deadshot, King Shark, and Captain Boomerang unite to face off against Brainiac and a mind-controlled Justice League. Rocksteady adds another superhero game to their profile with the game that takes place after the events of Arkham Knight. Prepare for a fearsome battle against iconic superheroes like Superman, Flash, Green Lantern, and, of course, Batman. The game releases on February 2.

3. Hell Divers 2

Starship Troopers fans, rejoice! Hell Divers 2 throws players into a relentless alien swarm, armed with nothing but raw firepower. Team up with three friends, survive the extraterrestrial onslaught, and revel in the non-stop action this cooperative third-person shooter delivers. The new release from Arrowhead Game Studios will drop on February 8 and it is available for pre-order now.

4. Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth

Venture beyond Midgar in Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth. Cloud and the gang return for a visually stunning and emotionally charged journey. With a two-disc design, this game promises a grandiose experience as players battle fearsome foes in the search for the mysterious SEO.

Square Enix plans on releasing the game on February 29.

5. Tekken 8

The King of Iron Fist Tournament is back in Tekken 8, now powered by Unreal Engine 5. Embrace the heat system, encouraging aggressive play in the face of adversity. The roster of familiar faces looks better than ever, making this a must-play for fighting game enthusiasts. Players will get to fight as iconic characters like King, Jin, Yoshimitsu and more. The new Bandai Namco fighter is set to release on January 26.

6. Skull and Bones

Players should prepare to chart course in Skull and Bones, a pirate-themed adventure that swaps assassins for high-seas mayhem. While micro-transactions may raise eyebrows, those hungry for ship battles and treasure hunts will find it hard to resist the allure of this nautical escapade. The game is made by Ubisoft and is set to release on February 16.

7. Star Wars: Outlaws

Star Wars: Outlaws ventures into the criminal underworld of the beloved Star Wars galaxy. Ubisoft took on the project to make this game and it will explore the storyline of a period between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Players will explore various planets, each with its own set of beauty and dangers, thanks to the meticulously designed open-world concept. While there is no release date for the game, Ubisoft has announced that the game will be out sometime next year.

8. Death Stranding 2

Hideo Kojima returns with Death Stranding 2, promising another dive into a surreal Sci-Fi world. Norman Reedus is back in this emotionally charged sequel, where the only certainty is an unpredictable and bizarre narrative.

This highly anticipated sequel was made to meet the demands of the fans. Players will get to explore the postapocalyptic earth that is overrun by otherworldly creatures known as Beached Things. There is no release date announced yet, but Hideo Kojima stated that the game will be out in 2024. However, one of the game artists’ portfolio has hinted at a 2025 release. However, it’s yet to be confirmed.

9. Destiny 2: The Final Shape

The grand finale awaits in Destiny 2: The Final Shape. Bungie’s potential final expansion pits the forces of light against darkness in a battle that transcends space and time. Explore new realms and wield new weapons as you prepare for Destiny 2’s epic conclusion. After a few delays in the release date, Bungie Inc. is finally set to release the game on June 4.

10. Persona 3: Reload

Persona 3: Reload brings a classic back to life with modernized visuals, an updated combat system, and a remastered soundtrack. Get ready for a nostalgia trip as you reimagine Persona 3 in all its glory on the PS5. The game is set to release on 2 February 2024 and fans will get to see what Atlus has planned for this installment of the hit JRPG.
