The Nintendo Switch is almost 6 years old, but doesn’t seem to show signs of slowing down yet! This hybrid portable console surpassed Play Station 4 as well as Game Boy to be the world’s third best-selling console, with more than 122.55 units sold.
Of course, part of the appeal here for Nintendo Switch is its excellent quality games. It even sees one of the best first-year libraries, and new games hitting the markets every single month. From Zelda: Breath of the Wild to Super Mario Bros., Nintendo Switch serves the needs of a wider audience base. And as time passes, the list of such excellent games keeps increasing by the day. Here are five such critically acclaimed titles that launched on the Nintendo Switch very recently.

The latest Persona game makes its way to the Nintendo Switch. While this spot can be taken by any of the other games in this series, be it Persona 4 Golden or Persona 3, 5 Royale gets it because it’s the latest. And it might be one of the most visually impressive titles in the series yet. From its first cut-scene to its menus to its combat mechanics and combat menu, this game has a distinctive style to it.
Everything is so smooth and fast that playing this game is a sheer pleasure. Especially if one is playing it on the Nintendo Switch OLED. Over that, Persona 5’s story is something else. A very satirical commentary on today’s capitalism and how it affects the world as we know it, this game stands out in every way.
Hogwarts Legacy
For all Harry Potter fans out there, this is a must-have title. And the best thing is that this game plays pretty well on the Nintendo Switch. What’s even better than that is the fact that the Nintendo Switch version of this game looks pretty good. The developers did not have to make many cutbacks, it seems.
Why is it one of the best-rated games on the Nintendo Switch, though? Hogwarts is the answer to every fantasy fan might have had about this world of wizardry. They get to explore Hogwarts and its surrounding areas as they will. They get to learn spells, attend classes, and choose the path they feel is best for their respective characters. This is the first time a Harry Potter game has given its fans such freedom.
Salt and Sacrifice
From the makers of Salt and Sanctuary, this 2.5D platformer with soul-like mechanics makes for an unforgettable experience. Once again, players are dropped in an unknown world that has no answers to the players’ questions of where and why but has many monsters for them to fight. Exploration takes center stage in this sequel, alongside a brand-new crafting mechanic.
Besides all these new additions and a shiny new color palette,, this game brings a bunch of brand-new bosses. Mastering the combat mechanics of Salt and Sacrifice is a challenge of its own. Bloodborne-like aesthetics remained, though. It’s a perfect game for gamers who have a heavy challenge to face.
Super Mario RPG
A very funny and well-made classic RPG starring Nintendo’s own jumpy plumber is back. And now, it looks better than ever, and it plays better than ever. The developers even added a bunch of new gameplay mechanics to make this game worthy of those who are coming back to it after playing the original.
They literally overhauled its combat mechanics, making it way more responsive, and no doubt its visuals are now better than ever. For every Mario fan and every person looking for an interesting diversion from platformers, this is the game to get.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder
Nintendo does not shy away from outdoing itself. They release excellent games after Excel games in very short periods of time. While this leaves fans puzzled about what they should play first, it leaves critics blown away. Super Bros. Wonder is an insanely well-made platformer that works way better than the Super Mario platformers released before it.

No doubt it released to rave reviews and became one of the best-selling games of 2023.
