The Grand Theft Auto franchise has always been a huge fan of social media. During the early evolution of Facebook and Twitter, the developers were smart enough to include a hilarious mockery of both apps in GTA V. The trailer has invited a lot of theories about the various possibilities Rockstar implements in social media for the forthcoming project. Among all these intriguing theories, here are some that actually seem to decode the alleged use of social media in GTA 6.

Predicting the ‘social media’ influence in GTA 6!
Ever since the GTA 6 trailer was dropped, fans have been busy trying to break it down from frame to frame. Not so surprisingly, the Reddit discussions have had overwhelming theories to talk about lately. One of the most prominent screentime from the trailer was given to social media. This brought the community to the conclusion that the internet and social media would have a very significant role to play in the narrative of the game. A meta-commentary on real life, indeed!

From TikTok to Instagram, the developers seemed to have kept in mind pop culture trends. GTA 6 focuses on the new age of social media, along with its commentary on influencers and viral trends. Recently, a Reddit user tried to break down the impact of social media overall in the game and came up with three possible outcomes.

- One of the side characters could be a social media influencer similar to Lester. They might give the lead duo of Jason and Lucia increasingly chaotic missions that affect social media in ways. For instance, recording a crazy bike stunt or killing an annoying Life Invader streamer. For context, Life Invader was the Facebook parody in GTA V.
- Social media could be random events, strangers, or freaks. You get a random text on your phone, or you meet these characters while exploring the open world.
- The social media posts could be this game’s wasted screen. When you die, instead of wasting your time, you get social media posts and news reports on how you died.
