Having pay-to-win elements is something not every gamer is comfortable with. However, in the Call of Duty franchise, this aspect has been noticed quite frequently. especially after the release of Modern Warfare II last year. It had a lot of bundles offering added advantages to players in modes like Warzone DMZ. Now, Modern Warfare 3 is set to continue this pattern with the ongoing zombie mode.

Modern Warfare Zombies consists of various iconic elements from previous Black Ops zombies titles. On the other hand, it also brings back certain aspects of DMZ, like contraband weapons and the extraction-based format itself. But it’s now going to add one more thing from DMZ: the pay-to-win bundles. A recent leak from a trusted insider has just confirmed this.

A Pay-to-Win ‘Self-Revive’ bundle is reportedly coming to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Zombie mode

Alaix is one of the most reliable sources on social media. especially when it comes to sharing COD-based updates online. He keeps dropping crucial intel related to the latest installments. Just recently, he took to his X account in order to reveal a wild leak related to MWZ.

The scooper wrote that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3: Zombies is soon going to receive one of its first pay-to-win items. To be precise, the players will receive a skin that will enable them to have the option of ‘Self-Revive’.

In short, the pay-to-win bundle will help Modern Warfare Zombies players start their game with a self-revive option every time they use the Operator skin that will arrive within the bundle.

For the uninitiated, Warzone’s DMZ mode also had bundles with a self-revive kit. Those bundles used to feature special operator skins that had the added advantage of making the players more immune to in-game damage. It looks like the developers are going to test out this strategy for MWZ too.

Not to mention that many players won’t be happy with the arrival of pay-to-win bundles inside the zombie mode. They will surely end up criticizing the makers for introducing such items. It’s because the open-world extraction-based mode is already difficult for many regular users. Those who won’t be able to purchase such bundles will have to work even harder to defeat the undead across the map, compared to those who will opt for the paid benefits.

As of now, the update from Alaix hasn’t been confirmed officially. Hence, one should take it with a grain of salt at the moment. But given the scooper’s track record, it seems likely that a pay-to-win bundle with the option of self-revive will be revealed soon. Most probably, it might be unveiled after the release of Modern Warfare 3, Season 1. The first seasonal update is set to go live on December 6, 2023.
