Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is just around the corner and the excitement around the project looks red hot, promising to be a whole new experience of the source game. With some impressive hype, the upcoming game also brings a lot of skepticism along. As the gaming world looks forward to what Square Enix has to offer with FF7 rebirth, it looks like the game’s director is already convinced of the game’s success. So, could the reprised take on the FF7 live up to the confidence of the director?

From alternative storylines to surprising character appearances, FF7 Rebirth aims to explore a fresh take on the epic Final Fantasy 7 saga. However, the fans have also voiced concerns. The discussions can be traced back to FF7 Remake. For a lot of players, the remake had underplayed its true potential. Thus, with Rebirth, it cannot just be banking on the nostalgia element. Fortunately, the makers of the project have been assuring the fans that the Rebirth would be the surprise they had been rooting for. In one similar episode, the game’s director Naoki Hamaguchi makes bold claims about the project.

During the latest podcast episode of Game Informers, the host spilled some beans about his interviews with the creator team of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. The source talked about how with FF7 Rebirth Hamaguchi is the most confident he’s ever been with a game. “He thinks people are going to lose their mind at what happens… There is a moment in this, when they saw it, everyone was kind of in awe…I am so confident in this game what he told me,” the host stated.

According to the claim, the creators believe FF7 Rebirth would not just live up to the high expectations, but manage to leave an impact. In fact, the director seems to have highlighted a lot of moments from the reprised story that would leave the players in amusement. Not to mention a lot of these moments would certainly include some unexpected comebacks and cameos from the FF universe.

There’s also been a lot of discussions about the side quests in the game. Well, it looks like Square Enix has also got it covered with inspiration from Witcher 3.

The world of Final Fantasy provides great liberty to the developers for offering side quests. As an element, adding side quests has always been a tough code to crack for the makers. Moreover, in an open-world RPG, the challenge only brings extra pressure. However, classics like The Witcher 3 and Red Dead Redemption 2 are some prime examples of how to implement the side activities. Hence, Square Enix knew what to follow.

It appears Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth may not be subject to the same criticism with respect to side quests like in Final Fantasy 7 Remake, which were condemned by fans for appearing slapped on and shallow. “Regarding titles like The Witcher 3, which has that open-world role-playing type element, we did some extensive research into these types of titles and looked at it as a baseline in which Rebirth should be a type of title that can stand alongside it and have the type of content that would be satisfying to its players,” Motomu Toriyama the co-director of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth stated.
