“I really like to always challenge groundbreaking things. But this one with help of Xbox Games Studios and using their cloud gaming technology, it’s really to make it immersive and also something that never no one has seen before. It is a game but at the same time a movie, a new form of media,” the director’s words at the unveiling translated.
Although there’s not much revealed yet about the game through the official drop, it surely is enough to keep the fans invested. After all, it’s a creation of Hideo Kojima! Nevertheless, the cast of the game is impressive, featuring actors like Udo Kier, Hunter Schafer, and Sophia Lillis.
But it gets even better. If you’re a horror fan, you will know Jordan Peele. The director of Get Out is also going to be involved. He said, “In my films, I’m always trying to maximize the immersion, put the audience into the main character’s shoes. Hideo is the master of this and he does it on a whole other level. What he’s cooking up here is completely immersive, utterly terrifying, and I am absolutely honored to be collaborating with the GOAT. Let’s go.” If Jordan Peele is involved in a horror project, you know it’s going to be huge. And that’s just going by his track record. Although, for now, the extent of his involvement is not known.
Kojima further hinted at the involvement of other well-known figures in the project, but he wouldn’t reveal who just yet. OD is marketed as a hybrid of a video game and a film as revealed at The Game Awards.
