As they say in the songs that play in the stores, ‘it’s the most wonderful time of the year’ and it certainly is true for gaming enthusiasts. Let’s look at the games that should be on your wishlist this December to spice up your holidays.

  • The Day Before

The countdown to the early access of ‘The Day Before’ has begun. It was first revealed a couple of years ago under the pretext of one of the first big, “Look what unreal engine 5 can do”. What adds to the hype built around ‘The Day Before’ is the fact that it revolves around the zombie apocalypse idea, and thanks to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, the zombie fever is currently running high.

The survival-thriller’s early access would go live on December 7 on Steam.

  • Stargate: Timekeepers

‘Stargate: Timekeepers’ is a real-time tactics game that takes place in the universe of Stargate SG-1 after season 7 of the series to be precise. The game takes place across 14 story-driven missions where you take a team of specialists each with their own unique skills, and tactic your way through it in real-time. Besides being a strong appeal to the OG fans of Stargate, Timekeepers also makes a strong case for players looking for a real-time tactical experience because of its ‘narrative-focused’ gameplay.

The release date for Stargate: Timekeepers is December 12

  • Arizona Sunshine 2

This next-gen sequel is a VR shooter that promises to be a strong leap from its predecessor in terms of immersive features and graphics. Arizona Sunshine was received decently by the community despite some complaints about its controls and realism in the graphics. Well, it seems like the sequel is set to rectify every complaint and take the standards to a whole new level in the zombie action.

The second installment of the Arizona Sunshine will be arriving on PS, PC, and Quest on December 7.

  • Warhammer: 40,000 Rogue Trader

Warhammer: 40,000 Rogue Trader is an isometric turn-based RPG developed by Owlcat Games. Players take on the Rogue Trader checking out barely chartered regions of space with a giant voidship The Rogue Trader looks like a promising entry with glimpses of advanced RPG combat set pieces in the history of Warhammer 40,000 universe. Also, the project would also be available for last-gen consoles.

The date of release is December 7 for all the platforms.

  • Baldur’s Gate 3

Don’t be surprised as ‘Baldur’s Gate 3′ makes an appearance on the list for a very obvious reason. The Larian Studios’ masterpiece, probably the strongest contender for GOTY 2023, needs no introduction. The third installment in the Baldur’s Gate series thrashed every record for the label and it has been the critics’ favorite. Finally, Xbox fans will experience the masterpiece in December as Larian Studios is gracing the community with an Xbox version.

Baldur’s Gate 3 will be landing for Xbox sometime in December, date is yet to be confirmed.

  • Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince

The brand new entry to the ever-so-popular classic JRPG series. Take control of the cursed dark prince and command monsters, control them, and make them do your bidding. You will also be able to create new monsters by merging and synthesizing species, giving you an ideal combination of Pokemon and Dragon Quest.

The Switch exclusive will be released on December 1.

  • Kingpin: Reloaded

A classic over-the-top 3D Realms shooter. The remaster aims to fix all the issues that were addressed in the original, making it a much better experience than its source. If not anything, the impressive soundtrack might be convincing enough to give it a ‘shot’. For a lot of fans, Kingpin is getting its long-due second chance for redemption.

What’s Christmas without chances? The remaster is coming across all the platforms on December 5

  • Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising

The new addition to the Granblue Fantasy series brings the same action-fighting experience but with simplified controls. The series has always pulled off an impressive job with the 2D RPG art look and using it in the narrative to bring an unorthodox RPG experience.

The game is coming to PS and PC on December 14

  • Terminator Dark Fate: Defiance

Based on the Terminator Dark Fate universe, the setup is of the big old war against the machines. Although the game takes its strong inspiration from the Terminator media, it looks like a very fresh take on the idea of a war against machines. It brings you different units with different abilities and seems like an innovative take on the world.

The project will be released on December 7 for PC.

  • Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

For Ubisoft, the current year of 2023 has been very eventful. Assassin’s Creed Mirage, which was just published, is already a huge hit.
