Hellblade 2 is the much-awaited sequel to Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, 2017. Although both games are under the development banner of Ninja Theory, Hellblade 2 brings an added set of expectations. This is because the predecessor was made before the Microsoft acquisition. Thus, the upcoming sequel has the backing which is why the gameplay showcase at The Game Awards 2023 amused every gaming fan.
The release date of the Xbox exclusive is yet to be confirmed but is allegedly happening sometime soon.
2. Warhammer 40000: Space Marine 2
Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 promises to take the standards of Space Marine to a whole new level. The decade-old revival takes us back as playing Captain Titus who is now demoted as the Lieutenant. However, the former captain is now a stronger and taller version of the Marine, courtesy of the Rubicon Primaris. Saber Interactive has taken charge of Relic Entertainment for the sequel development.
The sequel is likely to be released anywhere around September 2024.
3. Black Myth: Wukong
We may recall the Black Myth: Wukong announcement that was one of the major highlights of TGA 2023. This is inspired by the classic 16th-century Chinese novel ‘Journey to the West’. The gameplay feels like a strong inspiration from major critically acclaimed projects like Elden Ring, Dark Souls, and Sakira. In fact, a lot of the fans couldn’t help but notice its striking resemblance with Sakira. The developers had released a pre-alpha gameplay a while back.
The game comes out in August 2024 as revealed at The Game Awards, 2023.
4. S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2: Heart of Chornobyl
Heart of Chornobyl looks like a title FPS enthusiasts have been rooting for a long time. The game takes us to the post-apocalyptic Chornobyl exclusion zone and we see tons of new things in the game. Seemingly, the world feels like horrors beyond belief! The horror elements promise to make the FPS experience more edge-of-the-seat. Certainly, it’s a game that has much more to offer than just an action-packed FPS rampage.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 is expected to launch in the first quarter of the coming year.
5. Star Wars: Outlaws
Well, the Star Wars has to be in the list! Set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, Outlaws is a single-player third-person shooter. We can visit different worlds, fly around the cosmos with ships, and test our skills in space combat. The fact that it explores the underworld of the Star Wars universe rather than just focusing on the core narrative makes it stand out from all other Star Wars labels.
Outlaws is yet to have a confirmed release date despite an official launch window announced for 2024.
6. Avowed
Avowed might be the big surprise of 2024! The setup of us landing on a mysterious place to figure out the secrets of a strange plague itself looks incredible. Moreover, the RPG brings magic, and firearms to the fantasy world making it much more than what the fans believe looks like Skyrim. The makers have previously been associated with impressive projects like Fallout: New Vegas and The Outer Worlds.
The developers have also planned a sequel to the game already. Avowed would be coming out anywhere around the third quarter of 2024.
7. Hades II
Developed by Supergiant Games who have one of the most impressive industry records, Hades II looks like another impressive outing. We are no longer playing as Hades’ immortal son but as the immortal princess. Hades as a franchise offers us an innovative take on the Dungeons & Dragons-inspired world with an isometric viewpoint.
This being Supergiant Games’ first-ever work on a sequel makes us wonder what new would the developers offer in Hades II. The sequel would come out anytime during the second quarter of 2024.
8. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League
Fans know they’re in for a treat when the makers of Batman Arkham Series bring them another DC adaptation. But this time we won’t be the superhero! In fact, this game gives us a standout experience of taking down the superheroes as you join the infamous Suicide Squad. The game brings us a gripping narrative throughout to justify all the missions we come across.
Fortunately, we won’t be waiting for a long time to get your hands on Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League as it comes out on January 30, 2024.
9. Dragon Age: Dreadwolf
The fourth installment to the Dragon Age series, Dreadwolf, is most likely coming out next year. The constant delays the game has been subjected to have been frustrating. Moreover, there’s still not much revealed about the game besides a cinematic trailer. Thus, the skepticism around its launch window remains high. However, the developers have claimed Dreadwolf would be seeing the light in 2024.
Hopefully, 2024 does end the wait for Dreadwolf and brings the players a whole new world to explore in the ‘Dragon Age’.
