With 2023 rapidly coming to an end, Nintendo Switch gamers can look back proudly one last time before looking forward to 2024. Nintendo had an immensely successful year as usual. Players got games like Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Bayonetta 3 and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The latter was even nominated for GOTY at The Game Awards 2023. Surely Nintendo will keep this going with another exhilarating lineup. And guess what? The lineup for 2024 looks grander than ever.
After a series of speculations and rumors, fans are hoping for a new hardware announcement from Nintendo. While that still remains to be seen, the Switch will continue its run for an 8th year. So without further adieu, let’s dive into the top games you cannot afford to miss out on the Nintendo Switch next year.
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is probably the most promising-looking creation of Ubisoft that the players have seen in quite a while. The revival of the brand Prince of Persia feels like something to root for this coming year. It takes a more Metroid style which takes you back to the origin source days of the Prince of Persia labels. Besides the world seeming an enhanced cinematic experience, developers have claimed this project to be a revolution in the side-scrollers.
While it’s not an exclusive, Switch gamers will be thrilled to get their hands on this. Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown launches on January 15, 2024.
Another Code: Recollection
Looking for a traditional puzzle-format game? Imagine going to an island to explore the mystery of receiving a note from the ‘dead’! Sounds like a great plot for a mystery thriller.
Code: Recollection is a highly awaited Nintendo Switch remake enhanced for modern gameplay. The source game is still considered a bankable investment, making one wonder about the potential of the upgraded remake. Not to forget, it also includes another Trace Memory game that wasn’t localized in America back in the day.

Tomb Raider Remastered
The Tomb Raider Remastered for the original three installments is finally arriving on multiple platforms, including the Nintendo Switch this February. The first three Tomb Raider games have remained a favorite to this day. Exploring tombs as the game gets progressively crazier and more adventurous makes this franchise a hardcore treat for the seekers of fun. The fact that developers have redone controls in this game and the visuals, the only thing that held these games back then, it looks like an ideal pack.

Tomb Raider Remastered will be available on Switch from February 14, 2024.
Mario vs Donkey Kong
An enjoyable game that revives the classic competition that brought Nintendo to prominence through the 1981 Donkey Kong arcade game. Another big banner remake on the list. However, the game might not appeal to the whole section of Nintendo Switch players, but it has a lot of elements that make it a fun experience. There’s also a possibility that Nintendo might bring some additional content to the game later on.
Mario vs Donkey Kong is certainly a game players should check out when it comes out on February 16, 2024.
Star Wars: Dark Forces
The popularity of the Star Wars franchise feels as old as time. This remaster of the epic Star Wars: Dark Forces (1995) will finally bring players a chance to relive the glory days. The remake will surely not compromise the soul of the iconic 90s adventure, giving fans the vintage Star Wars experience.

Princess Peach: Showtime!
Keeping the train rolling, the next awaited release is Princess Peach: Showtime. The game on every level of display looks creative, possibly the highlight of its promotional campaign. It has to be one of the most attractive-looking debut games lined up for the Nintendo Switch with its animations and visuals. Initially, the idea felt like a 2D project, but the gameplay took the world by surprise.
Princess Peach: Showtime! arrives on March 22 on the Switch.
Contra: Operation Galuga
Contra: Operation Galuga is a complete reinterpretation of the vintage run-and-gun NES/arcade game from the 1980s. It includes enduring gameplay, iconic weapons, contemporary graphics and sound, fresh stages, new adversaries and bosses, innovative play mechanics, and gripping cooperative battles for up to two players in Story Mode or four players in Arcade Mode!

While the release date is yet to be confirmed, expect an early 2024 release on all current gen platforms, including the Switch.
Luigi’s Mansion 2
Luigi’s Mansion 2 is coming out in the summer of 2024. Nintendo seems to have really gone above and beyond for this particular project. The mansion exploration from the Luigi’s Mansion franchise has always been a bankable idea. There’s a lot more that’s yet to be officially unveiled about the game.
Despite not having enough to feed on, Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD has an impressive hype around its release. It will be interesting to see what the new Nintendo game has to offer in the forthcoming project.
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door
Nintendo revealed a remake of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door at the September 2023 Nintendo Direct. Sometime in 2024, players will be able to access the cherished role-playing game. With clips from the game’s historic GameCube debut, the recently released trailer for the title pays homage to the original. July 22 will mark the 20th anniversary of the game which released on the GameCube. So if Nintendo releases it on that day, it will be special.

The fact that Mario may use paper components to interact with his surroundings since he is a cardboard figure is equally exciting. He can become flat like a slide to move between wall cracks and transform into a paper airplane to soar across gaps. So, sounds like a perfect revisit for 2024.
