Call of Duty players are getting bored of operator skins. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is full of fancy Operator skins introduced by devs. And it’s a longstanding feature in CoD and many shooters. However, now it seems like players are getting bored with over-the-top skins in the game and want more realistic operators.
A lot of fans have been disappointed with operators based on licensed characters of popular fictional IPs or even real-life celebrities. According to them, it’s time for Modern Warfare 3 to feel like an actual shooter. They believe that it can only feel like one after receiving operators inspired by iconic characters from franchises such as John Wick and Hitman.

Since November last year, Call of Duty has been doing some amazing collaborations with other IPs and franchises. For example, at the beginning of MWII’s Season 1, the game received soccer stars like Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr. as playable operators as part of the World Cup-themed event. Similarly, there have been various other characters like operators inspired by music legends including Snoop Dogg and also Nicki Minaj.
Fast forward to 2023, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has also followed a similar path to MWII. Since its debut last month, it has got crossover events including characters from Diablo 4 and Dune series. Apart from that, the existing Operators from MWII have also continued to be available as part of the Carry Forward system.

However, some players seem to have become exhausted by the abundance of character skins they cannot relate to. Such as the ones based on anime themes, musical artists and similar other genres. They now want operators from action-based movies, video games, and even comic books who will actually fit in the world of COD.
A Reddit user recently posted on the social platform to express their wish to see Operators based on John Wick, Rambo, The Punisher and even Hitman. The Redditor mentioned that all of the currently available skins are quite ridiculous in the reddit post titled “With all the ridiculous skins in the game, there should be no problem adding these guys.” And that now’s the time to bring appropriate crossovers with characters fans can really admire in Multiplayer or Warzone.

It will be interesting to see if the devs will listen to this request or not. One should not lose hope, as Modern Warfare II had received an unexpected crossover featuring none other than Lara Croft earlier this year. By far, she’s the only suitable and fitting gaming character from a different franchise to appear in Activision’s first-person shooter saga. But maybe there is more to come.
