Final Fantasy 14’s highly awaited arrival on Xbox is just a few days away! The widely celebrated online multiplayer is all set to kick off the new era of the Final Fantasy universe with the Dawntrail expansion and an Xbox port. The PlayStation exclusive had been teasing the Microsoft console owners for a long while. Now, the developers have dropped a date on when to expect the first beta run of the game on Xbox. Well, it’s happening sooner than we expected!
Ever since Phil Spencer had confirmed an Xbox port for Final Fantasy 14 along with the game’s director, fans had been rooting for a date. While some reports suggested the launch to be around the second quarter of 2024, the developers didn’t provide much to feed on. The two-day Tokyo Fan Festival of the iconic RPG started off with a bang! The keynote announcements included a launch window for Final Fantasy 14 open beta on Xbox. So, the open beta will be arriving in the console around February 21. Although the date was mentioned during the keynote, Naoki Yoshida, the game’s director, stressed how the dates may be subjected to changes. Despite some minor changes in dates, fans can certainly expect the beta run to go live in the coming February!

The keynote also gave glimpses of the improvements the developers have made to graphics and visual detailing to add more value to the Xbox port. Moreover, Yoshi-P addressed these changes as “more natural” during the showcase. This stands true to the words of the Xbox boss Phil Spencer during the initial announcement. “We want to bring the Xbox community and your warriors of light together, in a way that is safe, secure, engaging, and, above all, fun,” the latter had stated back in July 2023.

The hype around the two-day Tokyo carnival had been building up for a while. From a Dawntrail expansion trailer to an Xbox port, fans had their list of questions ready. Fortunately, Square Enix didn’t disappoint as we have most of the answers!
Besides teasing a launch window for Xbox port, Final Fantasy 14 devs confirmed developing the crossover with Final Fantasy 16 scheduled for early April. But the highlight has to be the Dawntrail trailer. The multiplayer expansion trailer looks more promising than ever and marks the return of some rare faces of the FF universe.
