After releasing the successful OG Season of Fortnite, there was no going back for Epic Games. Although the OG Season was widely popular, players always knew it was going to get vaulted again. Fortnite Chapter 5 was launched and the game was in motion at full speed. That’s when Epic knew that there was no stopping the Fortnite bus anymore.

While many fans were disappointed to see the iconic map get sucked into a black hole yet again, Epic Games stepped up with an Eminem concert to make up for the season’s end. But beyond that, the game introduced Fortnite Festival, LEGO Fortnite, and Rocket Racing which retained quite a lot of players. With the new modes in the Fortnite universe, the game yet again touches a remarkable player count with millions giving it a swirl.

The OG season had a strong nostalgic element that got back some of the early players, back into the game. This brought in an influx of players, which Epic Games has successfully retained with their new updates. The Chapter 5 Season 1 update is a significant update that gives players more things to do in the games than ever.

The first mode that Fortnite introduced was the no-build mode which gives players a chance to play without the building mechanic. This can be found on the Epic Games store and not within the original Fortnite game. The three new game modes have been introduced to the game in the same manner.

The game has reported that Chapter 5 brought in 7 million players playing the game at the same time. This was calculated across all the game modes, but considering that it’s all under the Fortnite name, it’s still a large number.

Fortnite boasts a player count exceeding 2.9 million across diverse Battle Royale modes, including ranked and non-ranked matches with both building and non-building options. Over 2.2 million players engaged in the LEGO-themed Fortnite experience.

More than 563,000 players participated in Fortnite’s Festival Main Stage event. Fortnite’s Rocket Racing mode attracted a player count exceeding 432,000. The Save The World mode in Fortnite saw participation from over 48,000 players.

What to expect from Chapter 5 of Fortnite?

Fortnite Battle Royale Chapter 5 Season 1, titled Underground, introduces a captivating new Island. The Island features diverse biomes, including the chaparral, boreal forest, and grassland. Players are invited to join The Underground to thwart the secretive group known as The Society led by notorious bosses, including Valeria, who have captured the beloved character Peely.
