It looks like CD Projekt is working on a new IP that has everyone’s attention. Ever since its announcement in July, fans have been anticipating the new IP to see what the devs have planned. While the studio broke silence on the IP, the CEO of the CD Projekt shared that it might be a while before players get to see any update on the game.

The CEO, Adam Kiciński, was recently interviewed by the Polish publication Parkiet, where he shares details on the studio’s plans. Although a lot more was discussed in the interview, everyone’s attention moved towards CD Projekt’s new IP.

Codename: Hadar by CD Projekt

In July 2023, CD Projekt made a post on the official news bulletin page of their website. CD Projekt stated their plan to work on projects that were codenamed Polaris, Orion, and Hadar. While all three projects gained attention, Project Hadar stood out more than the others. CD Projekt Red mentioned that Polaris will be a new entry in the Witcher series and Orion will be the same for Cyberpunk.

During the interview, Parkiet asked Kiciński about their plans for the project “Hadar” and where it was in production. To this, Kiciński said, “We are currently in a conceptual phase, designing the world, describing it, and illustrating graphics. This is not the stage of creating the game yet.” (Based on translation)

Knowing that the game is still in its pre-production phase didn’t discourage fans, but instead increased the excitement for the title. It is still unknown what the plotline, or release date, of the game is. So far, we can only speculate it to be a third-person RPG game as CD Projekt is known for them.

Kiciński on what Hadar will be about

While Kiciński spoke to Parkiet about their plans, the Interviewer asked if he could reveal any more information about what the game would be about, but it was to no end. Kiciński still had one thing to say on this, he said: “I assure you that it will be an interesting pop culture concept, matching both Witcher and Cyberpunk.” (Based on translation)

The news of a new IP with plans of being a game as ambitious as Witcher and Cyberpunk has raised many questions in the community about how long will it take to make the game. Considering the fact that Cyberpunk took 9 years to make. Fans can expect the new title to take some time before we get to see the gameplay trailers of the game.
