Mouse and Keyboard players on PC owning Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 are not happy right now. This is because of an inevitable issue. Recently, free-to-play FPS rival The Finals came up with an effective update to fix a similar problem for its community. And now, MW3 players want nothing less than a proper solution from COD devs too.
Modern Warfare 3 was off to a shaky reception. But it has come a long way since. Apart from having improved movement mechanics in Multiplayer, it also offers modes like Warzone battle royale and Modern Warfare Zombies. And the devs have been hard at work, addressing any bugs. But, the situation of inconsistent aim assist has remained persistent.

For the uninitiated, The Finals’ developer Embark Studios recently came under fire. Most of the players were furious over the aim assist magnetism being too high during their experience. Eventually, the devs listened and came up with a response. They recently released a new patch that finally brought down the aim assist strength from 50 percent to 35 percent. Doing this will now reduce controller accuracy while enabling a level-playing field in cross-play matches.
On the other hand, Call of Duty players have been disappointed with the state of higher aim assist magnetism. Some players believe it’s still close to 60 percent – that’s just too much. On Reddit, one individual recently dropped a post while commending the changes introduced by The Finals.
The post read, “The Finals has just released Patch Notes detailing the current strength of their aim assist (50% rotational magnetism) and how they plan to nerf it (to 35%). COD is currently sitting at 60% rotational magnetism.”
The Redditor also highlighted the situation of COD’s aim assist rotational magnetism being at 60 percent. The player urged the devs to address this major issue sooner than later. In relation to this, the user wrote, “It feels like the devs treat this topic with the same kiddie gloves and taboo like they do with SBMM. 60% magnetism may have made sense without crossplay or when 80 FOV with terrible FPS was the standard for console but that is not case anymore.”
But what’s stopping the devs from doing so? They need to be quick to fix the entire problem. Otherwise, many COD players may soon end up switching to The Finals. Despite being a newly released title, it has managed to emerge in the eyes of FPS gamers, thanks to constant updates and changes brought by Embark Studios.
