When the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Beta took place, players were one step closer to the grand release of the game. With the Campaign mode, debut of Zombies in the MW series and more, the anticipation was sky high. What was more exciting for players was the return of certain features from the older games. For instance, remastered maps from Modern Warfare 2. However, now players have also spotted the return of another aspect of the older games. A glitch. It looks like Sledgehammer has missed a few bugs after the beta test of the game.

A video was recently uploaded on Reddit that had players wondering if one of the series’ oldest glitches was back. Here we are talking about the infamous Infinite Care package glitch from the 2009 version of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2.

A video on Reddit has surfaced of a player playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and it seems like the infinite care package glitch is back. While it is unclear if the glitch is actually back, the footage shows helicopters repeatedly dropping care packages in one location. Details of how this is happening or whether this is a glitch are floating around the community. But there is no clear answer.

What makes things bad is that in the footage, the player only has 1 minute and 8 seconds left and they are losing. If the opponents are abusing the glitch, the game would be unfair and a loss could not be helped. But on the other hand, the opponent team could have collected enough of Killstreak points with that big of a lead.

Today, even after 14 years, players still remember the infinite care package glitch, and if what the footage shows is the same glitch, it will be a nostalgic moment for all the veteran Call of Duty players who have played the game over the years.

How could players trigger the Infinite Care Package glitch?

The Infinite Care Package Glitch in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was an exploit that allowed players to repeatedly call in Care Packages without using up the required Killstreak points. This glitch also provided players with an additional benefit of a substantial speed boost while holding the Care Package marker, making them move faster than usual.

Players must choose a loadout that includes the Care Package Killstreak reward. This reward becomes available after achieving a 4-kill streak in the game. Futher, upon reaching the required Killstreak, players can call in the Care Package using the designated button. The delivery is typically handled by a helicopter, initiating the drop of the Care Package crate.

To exploit the glitch, players need to stand at the drop location and continuously use the melee attack while facing the helicopter. This interrupts the Care Package drop animation. As the helicopter leaves without dropping the Care Package, players stop the melee attacks, pick up the original Care Package marker, and throw it back onto the ground. This allows for the reuse of the Care Package without consuming Killstreak points.
