Fortnite is known to push barriers when it comes to hosting digital events. From full-fledged concerts in the game to beautiful cinematics while launching a new update, Epic Games has always maintained the hype around the game. The Fortnite OG season was one of the most successful phases for the game, which broke the record for the previous peak player count. That being said, Fortnite is still not done riding the highs of the success of the OG season.

Now that the OG season is over, Fortnite is moving to a different trajectory. The game is extremely well known for its digital promotions, and now they are moving towards promoting the game in the real world. Recently, a Fortnite promotional image was uploaded on X, which has fans scratching their heads.

An image of a huge shadow cast over Australia’s Bondi Beach surfaced on Twitter. The image was uploaded by FortniteANZ, the official Australian and New Zealand Fortnite Twitter page. The image was punnily captioned, “Don’t be a-llama-d… something Big is coming to Bondi Beach!”

This gives away the location where Epic Games is running its current physical promotional stunt. The Llama shadow showcased in the image has a striking resemblance to the Supply Llama found in the game. The Supply Llama was introduced to Fortnite during Season 3 as a loot box. This was soon changed to make it an animal in the game in Chapter 2: Season 7.

Upon seeing this, many Australian fans are speculating about what Fortnite could have in store for them. The Supply Llama, being a loot container, brings in the possibility of players getting some exclusive merch by visiting the Llama.

While the exact nature of this promotion is still unknown, this is not the first time that Fortnite has gone with a physical promotion in the real world.

After the OG season, Fortnite was set to launch Chapter 5. This chapter takes players to the next page of the Fortnite saga. The success of the OG season brought a strong player base back to the game. To maintain this momentum, Epic Games took over the Las Vegas Sphere to share a promotional teaser for the new chapter. The teaser is displayed on a massive sphere, which boasts 168,000 square feet of high-definition LEDs, 167,000 speakers, and 17,000 seats. The sphere provides viewers with a nearly 360-degree view, both from inside and outside, enhancing the immersive experience.

Epic Games, known for its grand promotional events, has surpassed previous efforts like the Chapter 2 Season 6 launch in Times Square with the Las Vegas Sphere takeover. The teaser was played on the sphere as part of the “Find it in Fortnite” trailer during the downtime for the v28.00 update. During the initial showing of The Big Bang Live Event, the concurrent player count exceeded 11 million. The massive player influx contributed to server-related challenges, underscoring the immense popularity of the Fortnite Chapter 5 teaser. That being said, we are still waiting to see how the Llama promotion at Bondi Beach unfolds.
