“As Bad as Derail”: Call of Duty Players Are Annoyed With This Remastered MW2 Map in Modern Warfare 3

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 features an array of attractive maps. From new locales to iconic areas, players have received numerous options to choose from. Unfortunately, one of the remastered maps from 2009’s Modern Warfare 2, is annoying them lately.

Modern Warfare 3 launched with an improved gameplay experience last year. Alongside a fast-paced Multiplayer setup, the latest installment consists of various game mode as well as maps supporting them. While most of the nostalgic maps have been enjoyable, some users are disappointed with a specific MP area due to its weird design and overall layout.

Rundown is making few players upset in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Multiplayer

For the uninitiated, the MP map of Rundown was originally introduced in Infinity Ward’s original Modern Warfare 2. As the name suggests, it takes place in a run-down village, similar to the map of Favela. Players can also see a Mountain in the background while dropping into this area.

Talking about the return of Rundown map in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, it requires players to think quickly to pivot on a dime as danger hovers over every corner. Since one portion is on the top and the other is downwards, it’s safe to say that players on the top side tend to have an upper hand over their opponents.

In its remastered form, Rundown has been divided into five main sections by the devs. Below is the list of them all:

• Gas Station
• Mansion
• Outback
• River
• Back Alleys

Despite its revamped yet nostalgic design, there are few players in Modern Warfare 3 who are finding it difficult to like Rundown. On Reddit, an individual recently dropped a post while sharing thoughts on this Multiplayer map.

According to the Redditor, Rundown is probably “as bad as Derail“. The latter happens to be the one many users keep criticizing in general. However, it seems like Rundown is not that far behind. At least that’s what the Reddit post suggests.

“Rundown is a really campy map for me. Everyone hates Derail but Rundown doesn’t get any hate. I also wish the sightlines weren’t so long and there was a bit more cover and lanes, especially around the B flag“, wrote the user in the post.

It looks like the real reason for the player’s hate for Rundown is its favorable layout for campers. But that point can be subjective since not many fans have raised fingers at this map so far. But again, if there’s an issue related to more players turning into campers rather than moving across the area, it might be an issue going forward. Simply because some maps are made in a way that only few individuals having a certain style can take advantage of them. Hopefully, Rundown won’t end up becoming one. Or else, devs will have to take a serious look at it.
