French tennis star Gael Monfils and Ukrainian tennis talent Elina Svitolina got married earlier this year. They are one of the most powerful couples on the tennis circuit. Prior to getting married, they were in a relationship and even have a social media account, “Gems”.
Recently, Gael Monfils and Elina Svitolina engaged in a question and answer session. During the conversation, the Ukrainian star was the one firing the questions and the Frenchman was answering them with honesty. However, the one question that caught my attention was when Elina asked Gael if proposing to her made him more nervous than facing Rafael Nadal at Roland Garros.

To which, the 34-year-old player stated, “It’s that you’re confident because you know about your relationship. I know it’s an important moment in your life, it’s an important step. And yeah, I was very nervous, more than a match. Life is bigger than our sport. So I was really nervous and really happy that you know it went well.”

Reflecting on his season so far, Monfils began his journey in Melbourne and ended up losing in the opening round. He was next seen in Paris and lost in the second round. After that, he had a similar result at the Wimbledon Championships, losing in the second round there as well.
