G2 is one of the most well-known eSports organizations in CS:GO. They also have one of the highest net-worth among CS:GO teams. This gives them the ability to splurge on acquiring good players to improve their roster. From the looks of it, they are going all-in with their latest purchase.
In a move confirmed by HLTV.org, G2 is planning to bid for FaZe star Nikola “NiKo” Kovač. The website reports that both the organizations are currently holding talks for a permanent deal.

The deal is still undergoing negotiations. Thus, no details have been released as of now. However, regardless of what the amount is, it could still become the largest transfer fee paid by a team to acquire a professional CS:GO player. As things stand, it looks like François “AmaNEk” Delaunay will likely be chopped from the roster if the deal goes through.
Both G2 and NiKo have remained quiet about the development and have denied making any comments about the same.
NiKo would play alongside his cousin Nemanja “huNter-“ Kovač, who he had predicted was going to be a star player.
Will G2-Faze controversy affect the deal?
G2 founder Carlos ‘ocelote’ R recently tweeted “G2 is taking over“. Fans have already made assumptions about whether he will address the recent buyout through Twitter.

G2 and FaZe have had a fair share of dirty history. However, making such comments while his team is negotiating to acquire an important player seems like a peculiar move.

Jake Lucky, from Esports Talk, explained how this tweet could affect the deal. He mentioned that if the deal is going to be as huge as it’s rumored to be, FaZe wouldn’t hesitate even if such a tweet exists. It could, however, give them the leverage to drive up the price.
