There can be no doubt about the seemingly unfaltering popularity of Fortnite. One of the first titles of the Battle Royale genre, this game has managed to stay on the top of everyone’s minds. Fortnite occasionally includes elements from various other pop-culture fandoms and maintains its relevance as well as its fan base. This is why a majority of streamers and YouTube content creators gravitate towards this title in order to build a viewer base for themselves.

However, plagiarism of content is not something new in the content industry. There have always been people who use gameplay clips of other players and pros and publish them under their own channel. Due to the current copyright policies, however, this issue has reduced by a great deal.

Recently, a Fortnite content creator called out a major YouTuber for stealing his clips and using them in his content. Pinnokeyo is a streamer on YouTube who has a relatively smaller viewer base. However, a major YouTuber, ItsJerian, has allegedly been stealing clips from the former and posting them on his channel.

Pinnokeyo called the latter out in a recent Reddit post on the Fortnite Competitive subreddit. In the post, he included clips from his channel as well as those from Jerian’s, as evidence in support of his claim.

Pinnokeyo accuses major Fortnite YouTuber ItsJerian of stealing his clips

Usually, when a minor content creator calls out a major one with plagiarism claims, the community ignores it and the claims die out. However, Pinnokeyo has been receiving noticeable support from the community. In his post, he explains how hurtful it is to have content stolen. He adds that Jerian has done it in the past as well.

We agree that it speaks volumes about the integrity of the accused as a person. Pinnokeyo writes:

It is disheartening for me to put hours upon hours into my videos, only to see a more popular version from someone that just takes my content. He has done it in the past as well, but at least then he gave a very very small shoutout to my channel.

Here is one example that he has provided as a piece of evidence. The clip attached below belongs to Pinnokeyo.

Content theft is not an uncommon felony among content creators. However, it certainly is one of the lowest forms of oppression possible. Since Jerian is a major YouTuber with a quite broad viewer base, Pinnokeyo is not receiving proper recognition for the clips he made. Thankfully, the community has taken his accusations seriously, and many have voiced their support for him.
