For the uninitiated, Neymar is a prolific Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player. He has gone up against professionals with stellar records and made them kneel with his gameplay. However, the fans he has managed to acquire in his years of gaming have now turned against him for joining the Fortnite camp.

Fans react to the Neymar x Fortnite collaboration

Neymar Jr. reached the Master Guardian 1 rank while peaking in CS:GO. His Latin-American fan base loved to watch the soccer star stream on Twitch while he played the popular FPS game. Not only CS fans, but his soccer fans also supported him in his gaming endeavors.

One too many times, the Brazilian soccer star has also expressed his love for Epic’s Battle Royale game. However, a collaboration on such a large scale has seemed to upset his fans.

While some fans are indeed taken aback by this move, there are various others who are extremely excited to see their idol be a part of a popular game. His collaboration also caught the attention of GrefG, the Spanish Twitch streamer who recently set the record for most viewers at a point in time on a Twitch stream.

As more and more content creators and celebrities move away from Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, the game’s fate is close to being sealed. However, CS:GO fans still believe that the game has a few years left in it. Fortnite is not the best alternative to CS:GO and therefore, players are going over to Valorant.

If Neymar still has a thing for FPS games, maybe fans can see him take up Riot’s FPS game too.
