Fortnite is perhaps the most iconic Battle Royale title out there and has been one of the most popular ones of its kind. Epic Games has left no stone unturned in order to build and maintain its player base gradually. Be it through collaborations or the addition of content, Epic makes sure players have something new to look forward to in the game in almost every season.

However, many players and pros had a steady complaint against Epic regarding the competitive aspect of the game. Now, players can put their minds at ease as Epic plans to improve the competitive side of Fortnite, and it will be implementing a major step in this direction from the upcoming season.

This year has been really great in this aspect so far, and it will be getting even better. In a blog post yesterday, Epic Games elaborated what players can look forward to in the Sixth Season of Chapter 2.

Fortnite Competitive Pre-Season will let players ease into the competitive ecosystem

With the upcoming season right around the corner, Fortnite is gearing up for the FNCS tournament of the sixth season. Epic has decided to add a Competitive “Preseason” to the game so that players can “experience everything Chapter 2 Season 6 has to offer and give us (Epic) feedback.

This competitive preseason will kick off on March 16 and run for a week, ending on the 23rd. The preseason will perform a function similar to that of Test Servers for update patches. Players can try the preseason out and report the issues they face to the devs. Furthermore, layers will retain the Hype from Season 5 until the conclusion of the preseason.

This is to prepare the players for the changes that may come their way next Season in the FNCS. However, Epic has not revealed much about this yet. According to the blog post,

“Speaking of adjustments, we’re evaluating different options for tweaking how teams qualify through Series Points, and fine-tuning scoring systems and formats for all competitive offerings. We’ll share more details on the next FNCS season, along with the mid-year event, soon.”
