Fortnite Chapter 2: Season 5 is almost nearing the end. The largely successful season saw numerous collaborations and the subsequent addition of content and Easter eggs into the game. The subsequent introduction of NPCs also increased the amount of action in the game. As usual, Epic Games lured in a lot of new players from various pop-culture fandoms with these collaborations.

Rumors now suggest that the upcoming season could see a major collaboration with DC Comics. This would find further relevance with the upcoming release of Zack Snyder’s version of the film ‘Justice League’, which is something fans have been eagerly waiting for.

As we anticipate the sixth season of Chapter 2, let us look at some of the items Epic had added to Fortnite over the years but were extremely rare.

Some of the rarest items in Fortnite over the years

Mythic Mushroom

Now, this is one item that ended up being the stuff of legends because of its rarity. The spawn chance of the Mythic Mushroom, or the Golden Mushroom, was 0.0001% in the game. This means that only a handful of players laid eyes on them, let alone use them. However, Epic soon removed the item from Fortnite.

The Fortnite Axe of Champions

Epic has always tried to reward its player community in ways more than one. The Axe of Champions pickaxe was one such way to honor FNCS winners along with money. This exclusive pickaxe would be given to the FNCS winner of the season. Subsequently, the pickaxe would pass down to the winner of the following season’s FNCS winner. However, Epic kept this pickaxe in the game only for Chapter 2, Season 2, so practically no one got this pickaxe later on.

Mythic Goldfish

Once again, this is one of the rarest items in the game right now. Like the Mythic Mushroom, it has a spawn chance of 0.0001% as well. The Mythic Goldfish is a trophy of a golden flopper. However, unlike a flopper, you have to use it as a weapon. This extremely rare item has a damage count of 200, so it can kill enemies instantly, making it one of the most powerful weapons in the game.

Mushroom buddy

This was a really fun feature that graced Fortnite during the second season of Chapter 2. Mushroom Buddy was a secret addition to the game and was extremely rare. As a result, only a few people got to meet and use the little fellow.

Mushroom Buddy would spawn in the Weeping Woods, and if a player fed him some wood and danced with him, he would follow the player around and constantly heal him/her. However, Epic removed this character with the advent of Season 3.

Boomboxes and Airstrikes

These are probably the only items that players do not miss. In fact, players probably heaved a sigh of relief after Epic vaulted these. The boombox was basically a, well, boombox. As soon as you set it up on the ground, it interfered heavily with the building capacity of the opponents in the area and was almost indestructible once planted.

The airstrike, on the other hand, rained explosives over a marked area on the map. Epic added these two items in an update patch and was fast in removing them in the following patch.
