Back in 2019, Fortnite won the award for the Best Ongoing Game. However, the developers have some unique plans for the game this year.

There will be an announcement for Fortnite at the Game Awards

Ahead of the Game Awards on December 10, Geoff Keighley was on a Zoom call with the creative director at Fortnite, Donald Mustard. It was much more than just a fun session because Fortnite’s creative director revealed a lot of information about the game’s future.

Donald Mustard had fun too. Also, he teased that he had hidden a lot of ‘clues to future stuff’ with the background of his work space.

Since its release, Fortnite has been using its slot at the Game Awards to announce some exciting updates. In 2018, the game introduced The Block POI to the community. Following the trend, the developers announced the collaboration with Star Wars at the 2019 Game Awards.

Naturally, fans are expecting a similar announcement in this year’s event too, and Donald Mustard confirmed this in the Zoom call with Geoff Keighley.

Fortnite’s future calender looks more planned than ever

Apart from an announcement in the Game Awards, Donald Mustard also teased this season’s big event. As per the creative director, this will be the biggest event that they’ve ever done and it will change the future of Fortnite. owing to that statement, it is safe to say that this is just the beginning of Fortnite’s collaboration with Marvel, and fans can expect a lot more coming from the two franchises.

Troy Baker needs no introduction as a voice artist in the gaming community. Plenty of fans might not know this, but Troy Baker had voiced Agent John Jones in the Device event of the game. Troy returned to Fortnite for a recording session recently. However, there is no further information about this session’s theme or content.

In the Zoom call, a fan asked about the possibility of a Fortnite collaboration with Super Smash Bros. Interestingly, Donald Mustard didn’t deny it, but simply chose not to comment. From the looks of it, it seems like December is going to be a big month for the game.

Since its collaboration with Marvel, Fortnite seems to have caught a second wind. With regular updates and events, the game looks fresh, and it has caught the community’s attention. Certainly, the developers will want to continue building on this momentum.
