Another new controversy surfaces in Fortnite battle royale, and this time it is about cheating and getting banned. While this topic has been recurrent over the last few weeks, random accusations are sometimes taken too seriously. This time around, it was a bug that resulted in these unfortunate accusations of cheating. It is surprising as this happened in an FNCS game.
So now you just going to lie to me? "DETECTED BY ANTYCHEAT"?????? ur anti-cheat cant even detect soft aim and why was nobody else banned that did the glitch? ACTUALLY A JOKE OF A COMPANY pic.twitter.com/uYSuh3w2lP

The player who got banned is not someone who is known for being unfair. In all honesty, he is one of the top players in the game right now. Waffle being banned spurred a lot of reactions from the pro community. Even the world champion Bugha had a lot to say about it. It seems that Epic has mishandled this in a major way.
Firstly, what caused the allegations of cheating was actually a bug in the game. It wasn’t a hack or a dishonest mean used by Waffle but rather a bug/glitch in the game. Nevertheless, this brought about a huge investigation that came with the verdict of banning Waffle.

“There is no way he got banned bro. I actually cannot believe that,” said Bugha after he learned what Epic had decided. It was unbelievable to start with as Waffle did not cheat. He literally picked up launchpads from a player that died. Nevertheless, Epic has investigated the matter and sent a bunch of mails to Waffle.
Those emails have been uploaded on Twitter, and they are quite ambiguous in nature. None of them clearly has any proof of his innocence, and thus his ban is still standing. Bugha, in fact, said that Epic bans competitors despite not fixing bugs that affect them in solos.

We have seen this before, and here it is again, Epic mishandling a situation. In the past it was about competitive players, it’s the same this time. It seems that this form of miscommunication is way too common. Is this going to be just? A 30-day ban in any pro’s career can be a drastic step.

Any accusation without proof or misleading evidence is just foolish to act on. Hopefully, Epic Games will rectify its mistake and pave the way for the pro to return.
