With the latest FNCS Solos being set up for the grand finale, we have to look back on the overall response. It was not something Epic Games was hoping for. Fortnite pros have continuously raised the issue of server lags in tournaments. Recently, we saw how Waffles received a ban over a bug that popped up in FNCS Solos.

The matter has now boiled down into something of a legal dispute. What happened was quite a difficult incident to comprehend, simply because it was mishandled. Epic Games are known for their community service, and this kind of mishap is unexpected. Considering it was a mistake from Epic’s side, we have to see how things go down.

If it is going to be a legal battle, then Epic will have to come up with a proper explanation for the ban. Waffles had nothing to do with it; he cannot suddenly plant a bug right at the end game. Thus, proving that he is guilty will take a lot more than words.

Fortnite pro decides to take legal action against Epic

This is not the first time Fortnite has been sued; back in 2019, it was quite a common phenomenon. At the start of the year, we had seen several cases against the game.

However, none of them gained any prominence, only a few that were related to emotes and ownership of those dances. When a pro files a lawsuit against a game, he is a professional at, and then it means serious business. Waffles could lose his entire career over this.

Wrongful ban with a permanent let-go email

The mail which was sent from Epic had clear indications that Waffles cannot do anything about the ban. When he took to Twitter, Carter Pulse replied to him. Carter is quite a popular law firm in the eSports circuit. With their backing, the case might get a satisfactory resolution.

However, there were two main variables here – the bug and the complaints. Waffles got banned mainly because of the hype that he was cheating. Video evidence proves his innocence. This legal intervention just put forward an offer that Epic could not refuse. Later on, CarterPulse went on to mention on twitter how Epic is a great company and that mistakes are only human.
